one day you can trap 100+ in the 1/8th like us big boys
One day, maybe sooner than I hope. Gotta think of my house first.

Guys, all it boils down to was that I had a better launch. Yes I'm proud, way cool, whoo-hoo. But truly I know that if it wasn't for my launch, he would have walked me. I know my car is not capable of taking an M3. Just got lucky.

To tell you the truth guys, I've always felt my Z is slow. I can't really put my finger on it. Yes, I have a bunch of heavy Stereo stuff, but deep down I feel my car is slow. My Stock Dyno in Texas was like 234. Is that reasonable? or did I get a Friday motor?

yikes ... Trapping only 90 mph (theoretically) ... I trapped 96 mph on my roadster on 20' rims (only time at the track). Something's not right. (not trying to be insulting)

Thats just a projected 1/4 mile trap speed. It would probably be close but hard to say. Most stock Z's can gain atleast 20mph in the last 1/8, so I would say he would atleast be at 92mph or so. Still not that good though.

Im glad you beat the M3 and all, but with a 2.185, you should of had more like a 8.687 1/8th ET. You are almost a full second behind. Are you sure its not a typo on your part? Do you have the 330' time?

Now that I think about it. Maybe their tree timing system is off. Could be. KH_08 will post up the slip later tonight.

Is temp a hughe factor? It was like 85 degrees that night. Crazy hot.

Temp. of course has a factor, but it seems like your car suffered tremendously!

um, you seem to forget that you have an 07 z.lol... I know jez personally and his z definitely is running on the weakside, but he also has about 300lbs added to his z with his stereo equipment plus the hot and humid weather takes a huge toll on the times. I dont think the tree has any problem cause i've ran there many times and i have a consistant 2.0-2.1 60ft and 8.8-8.9 e/t trapping 80-81 mph. I just think jez need f/i or nos. lol

Quit making fun of me, Chris! Or I'll never install anything for you again! J/k.lol. Yeah My Z is a Tank. F/I eventually. Still, with a slow Z I managed to out drive an M3. I have alot of experience with road courses, but 1/8 and 1/4 Mile are the only thing around Miami. Autcross, too short. Raod Racing, too expensive. I have to reset my goals in terms of racing as a hobby. I might just buy a Kart again and get back into the saddle that way.

Both drivers need some practice, or need to get their cars looked at, not trying to be jacked up. Just saying you should be running a lot faster than that and trapping a lot more than that as well

What does that matter, a lot of Z drivers only have a 2.3 60'. It sucks but it happens!

No, it would be worse if this were true, and on top of that, if this were to be true, then you should get a new hobby. If you honestly pull up to the line, and you VDC. or TCS is still on, then you need to get a new hobby!

Everybody isnt trying to cut good lights. In some cases, when I line up against a car I want to absolutely rape, I'll cut a good light and bust a$$ down the 1/4, in other cases I could care less what is next to me or my R/T, I'll concentrate on my launch. Everybody here has had a 1.0+ second R/T likely doing what I described baove, its no big deal in Test & Tune...post your .500 lights hot shot.

i agree alberto.. plus it's fun to see if you can pull down the car you just gave a headstart to.

Yeah man your traps are low.. 300lbs does not egual to a that big of a loss man. Your modded and should be trapping 80-83mph in the 1/8.

I ran a 14.6 in my roadster on 20" rims with a 2.18 60'. Driver error usually trumps any other reason for slow ETs.

My 60' was 2.18 as well. My RT was .595. I'm not a seasoned drag driver, but I'd like to think that those numbers aren't consistent with bad driving. My question is with a decent RT and 60', why did I run such a slow number to close out the 1/8th Mile? Is it my converted intake that is creating higher intake temps. There's a guy who tuned my car with a handheld cypher, and he told me my intake temps were pretty high. 115-130 degrees ambient.
