help with timeslip PLZ. is my car sick?
When I only had popcharger, spacer and Y-pipe I could run high 13's consistently (best of 13.79).
Two weeks ago I switched the gruppe-S Y-Pipe to a Tanabe Y-pipe, added the crawford HFC's, UR pulley and had the ECU reflashed.
So mods now:
Popcharger, Crawford HFCs, UDP, Y-Pipe, Motordyne 5/16 spacer, ECU FLash
Best stock 14.0 @ 103
Best last week after 1 day after reflash 14.0 @102
I ran ten times tonight, best of 14.1.
2.1 60 ft everytime except the last run.
I ran 10 times tonight.
typical slips
60ft.......... 2.1
330.......... 6.08
1/8........... 9.2

My 1/8th used to be 79-80
Should I have the AFR's checked from the reflash or would that show up across the whole run? It seems like the only loss is around the 1/8th (3rd gear)???
The car is a 03, I am shifting at ~7000 1-2, 7000 2-3, 6800 3-4
I also tried shifting @ 6800 on the 2-3, but still netted a whopping 77.5 MPH 1/8th

The car is running strong picking up 23 MPH in the second 660 feet.

Good 60 foot times. It could be 2.0 seconds with practice. But I would prefer to see consistent times like you have demonstrated.

Here is where I see room for improvement: 1/8 mile. I assume that this is the result of a first to second gear shift. Some racers take first gear to redline. Some do not.
Notice above that our 1/4 mile trap is the same, but ET is better. The difference is the 1/8 mile numbers.
Again I admire the consistency of the 14.1 and 14.2 second ET. I would rather see this than ETs that are all over the page. Good driving.

thanks.
I miss my shifts sometimes though. 3 out of the ten runs I had to abort for missing 2nd or 3rd. A bad day i guess.
Strangest thing is my 1/8th MPH was always higher before, I've never seen it this low consistently. What RPM would you personally recommend the 1-2 shift, and how about the 2-3 shift (which I think would also be before the 1/8th)?
Oh, one last thing, I'm also running 275's on the back if it makes any difference - stock 06 wheels

What was your rim/tire setup before, and when did you last your run car, compared to now in the summer?
Heavier rims/tires will clearly slow you down, and the summer heat does not help as well. I would be pretty disappointed if my car was to slow down after a tune.

Ya, if he were bracket racing, he probably wouldve been having a good day. Unlike the slip in which you provided and you broke-out! lol!

before I was running the 03 touring wheels, stock 245 size. Last time I ran was in the fall. It even went through quicker on the snow tires.
But I did add more than just the tune since then. I added underdrive pulley, crawford cats, switched the Y-Pipe and had the reflash.

Before the reflash were you shifting at 6500-6700. Now after the flash are you shifting at 6800-7000?
Just because you have the extra rpms does not mean you are making power past 6500 rpms.
You might be running your gears too long and running on the back side of your power curve,

To the OP, I would have to agree that, just because your flash allows you to have a higher redline, that perhaps you are not making very good power that high in the RPM range. I would take it to a dyno and see. I think most DE's even with the higher redline still shift only as high as 6600rpms or so. I dont think they make very good power higher then that without cams, or F/I.

I'll try shifting a bit lower.
Does the 330' seem low as well for a car with those mods?
would a low time there indicate decreased power through those gears (out of powerband?)
thanks for the suggestions guys

Yes it could, but if you were shifting 1st and taking 2nd to 7k uncessarily, then that could also be the cause. Does it sound like you have a leak possibly with one of your test pipes? Also, was this a mail-in tune, or did you go on a dyno?

No dyno, just went to the shop and had them do the generic flash.
I don't think the cats are leaking.
on the last run I only took 2nd to 6800, and the 1/8th was still @ 77 mph. Hopefully next friday I can try it out again bah
how are your 330's (if you have any with a similar 2.1 launch)?

What were the weather temperatures?
You could see as much as 5 tenths of a second difference from running in 90 degree weather and running in 40 degree weather.
You can't dismiss the weather, it makes a huge difference.

My 2.1 60' netted me consisten 5.9 330'. I cant wait to get a good track rim/tire setup though. Thats my biggest problem right now.
I assume by generic flash, you mean that they raised the rev. limiter and perhaps the speed governor as well. Or did they do any actual "tuning" in this flash?

weather was in the high 70's. about 77 I believe. It had rained earlier in the day and there were a couple of droplets on my windshield around 7pm, but not enough to actually close the track (literally two-three droplets). I'm not sure what the actual humidity was, maybe 70%.
It was the full spec flash, tuning, rev limiter, speed limiter etc, but not dyno tuned.

Its the weather. Summer isnt a great time for beating personal bests.
I'm running about 0.5 seconds slower than what I consistently ran this February.
I wen't to California Speedway this weekend; it was 100 compared to 72 in February. And like I said, the whether added half a second to my ET and dropped my trap speed by about 3 MPH.
