Since the day I bought my 07 Z, my boss has been wanting to race. He drives a 2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Quad cab. The Corvette Club is having a track day at our Rocky Mountain Raceway and has invited us along. Now we can finally have a safe head to head matchup. How do you see this ending? My Z is a stock 6mt and his SRT-10 is a stock automatic.

 

Bench racing=fail.

 

I wouldn't expect this one to even be close on a drag strip or on a track. The quad cab auto srt10 weighs 5600 lbs. I'm confident the 07 Z can outhandle the srt10's .83 g and 14.2 quarter mile time. Good luck.

 

+1 saw a supercharged SRT-10 running 13.00's, so a stock SRT should not be a match for your 07, that is unless you totally suck at driving.

 

Quad cab with auto is the slowest SRT-10 truck. I'm sure you'll be fine.

haha of course I want to! We are very close and actually hang out (lunch, golfing, etc) quite often. I dont think my beating him will hurt my job. I will definately post up my results when it happens. Track day is scheduled for august 9th

Tough race...both have been known to see high 13s... and both have dipped to mid 13s... Drivers race FTW.

 

It will be a fun race and that see4ms to be the important part.
If he has any mods especially slicks, or DR's you may be in a bit of trouble...

he doesnt have slicks or anything and he hardly has mods. He has done "exhaust" and "intake". I put those in quotes for a reason......for his exhaust, he simply changed to a "high performance muffler." and for his intake, he took off his stock box and threw a $30 filter on. Thats all.
