you can run 12.9 at 106 with slicks, test pipes, free flowing exhaust, plenum spacer and a utec....

that was with 256 SAE to the wheels on a dynojet.

That was with part of your interior gutted right?

Yes, I took out most of the interior panels on the passenger side and the hatch area, but they don't weigh that much. It seemed like a waste of time to me, taking them out and putting them back in. That's the reason why I only take the passenger seat and the spare tire out now. I leave the tools in, just in case something happens, though. The weather was what allowed me to achieve such a time, not the "weight reduction." Later on this year (with better conditions than high humidity and heat), I should be able to top that.

JWT popcharger, Helix test pipes, AAM plenum spacer, and a set of BFG drag radials netted me a 13.424@105.02mph with a 1.934 60'

Impressive time. You may want to post your time slip here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html.

Can someone suggest a plenum or two for me to look at? Is Kinetix a decent brand or no? I see Motordyne is heralded, so perhaps I'll just stick with them. What plenum model should I get since I'm an 06 AT?

Edit: And I don't know if I should start a new thread or not for this...but I might be heading off to the track in a few weeks, but I have a problem. I can't seem to burn my tires to warm them up (TC always off). I have an AT, but I remember when my brother had a Lexus SC430, it took nothing for him to stomp the gas and just burn.

I suppose it has something to do with the lighter weight of the Zs? Should I torque brake it to around 2500? Also, tracks are slicker than real roads, so that should make a difference. But I'm still curious.

Are you running street tires? Why do you smoke street tires? Just go around the water box, and spin the tires a bit to throw off any dirt.

Automatic drag racing is very common. The fastest drag racers have automatic transmission (albeit not the same transmissions that you find on the street). Yes you do have to power brake or toque brake. You just have to do it without a line lock.

With respect, you are attempting to learn about racing on the internet. Its not going to work. Get out there and race.

I'm not learning how to race. I'm just learning about the Z's characteristics and how to launch it, since I'm coming from a FWD 222HP Maxima. I'm just looking for a few prep pointers.

Hahaha, your runs are just one of the reasons I went with an AT. I remember seeing you post them on the Org. =D

Btw: Today, I did a little practice on my block. Finally peeled out by torquing it to 2500 and then flooring it. Felt good! =D

Very Impressive. You should add your time to the fastest 1/4 mile timeslips list.

Car with full interior and a change of cloths in the back I ran a 13.80@101.29 with a 2.19 60ft on Toyo T1R street tires. My mods are Nismo CAI, Topspeed test pipe, Topspeed y-pipe, and Topspeed exhaust.
