Every Z I've raced on here, except AJ.

Well, I ran a better time but he used staging trickery against me!

Having owned an 05 and 06 Mustang GT and now a 2007 350Z there are some things (weight, gearing) about a stock 2007 350Z that I think mitigate the stock 05/06 Mustang GT torque advantage it enjoys over the Z. So I believe with a good driver on a straight-line track run a stock 2007 350Z and stock 05+ Mustang GT would be dead even.

From a modification standpoint I still think using standard aftermarket bolt-ons that they will stay relatively evenly matched. The Z however will pay nearly double in price for comparable HP/TQ gains compared to the Mustang.

Once comparable FI mods enter the picture then the Mustang GT will definitely walk the Z.

That's funny because I went 1 out of 2 from 40/60 rolls vs a Vortech supercharged 06 Mustang GT. Both cars were stock block, and he was making more peak power (I'm thinking 30-40whp more). The fact that my car was lighter and made more midrange power really showed.

The cars were pretty evenly matched despite the displacement advantage of the mustang. Turbo FTW.

I don't disagree with you..but I don't believe it would be a simple walk in the park like everyone thinks in a 1/4 mile run. The Z will win but it will have to work to get it....not just walk away with it.
