He did say equal drivers.
Actually an LS1 GTO has only been to 13.5 bone stock so I could see an 07 having an advantage given equal drivers. A S/C GTO... driver error or hurt car... if the slowest GTO runs 13.5 with a good driver stock whats another 100+ rwhp going to do to that... I can answer that but I don't think its necessary.

So far the fastest 07 cars (2 now) have gone 13.3 and 1 has gone 13.4 so the 350Z has the nod but like you just said it's by no means a walk in the park. In fact if I was a betting man I would keep my money safe.
