You doing burnouts in 1st gear Bert? You ever tried 2nd gear burnout? I was looking around, and a few people were suggesting 2nd gear. Probably don't have to feather the throttle so much to keep the wheels spinning (not to mention having a higher wheel speed to heat the tires up better by using 2nd gear instead).

Bad *** vid by the way.

I need some line locks, I am not good at keeping the car straight for a 2nd gear burnout and I end up letting off way before I want. I can hold 1st but its not enough speed. In the video, run #1 was a 2nd gear, run #2 was a 1st gear. Thanks guys...

To be honest I didnt think I was gonna run anything decent due to track conditions and I knew I had 3 hours for the weather to cool down as well. I went out with the idea of a "practice" run but then hit that launch and stay'd in it...I should have set up the camera inside regardless, next time!

Nice times. Must have been a hand full but 13psi isn't really low boost when talking on these boards. Lets see a high boost run. All this talk around here about street car, full interior, fuel cell, stripped interior, skinnies, bias ply, drag radials, is getting pretty stupid. 11.1 is 11.1.

Alberto, nice run. Does your Z pull left under power and move back right once you let off?? Our Z did this and we found that the rear suspension was slightly out of alignment. Once we corrected this issue our Z ran straight down the track with little steering input. Once again great run. Can't wait to see a clean pass. Jason

Doug (from Crawford) told me that if your toe is just a little bit off it will cause your car to feel very loose and float. I was experiencing this at the track 2 weeks ago car pulling to the left under hard throttle. He recommended I put my sway on the softest setting, and that did the trick.

I didnt write low boost by stock block standards in the vid did I? Its MY low boost-the $hit people feel the need to post is downright stupid sometimes

Yes! Jason, it only happens on slicks, not at all on the street. I recently had it aligned with "only" -1 rear camber, dont recall the toe settings but it was in spec. If I was to post my toe settings (gotta find them) could you tell me if it needs to be toe'd in (negative) more? I had this suggested to me but figured since it was in spec it was "ok"....thanks for the confirmation. I'll report back as soon as I find the spec sheet its around somewhere.

I loved the show...just like everybody else that was there. Your cars sound running down the strip is unforgettable.

alberto, Eric should be able to help you out with that info. If I remember correctly our alignment was not a toe issue. Basically our rear tires were out of spec with eachother due to launches and or tie downs from the dyno. One tire was slightly ahead of the other. Took us a little while to diagnose this but once we made the corrections it has run very straight for us. Don't qoute me on this because I was not directly involved in the fix and it was about two years ago we encountered that problem. I will have Eric chime in when he gets a chance to confirm or change the info if need be. Good Luck and once again nice job, Jason On a side note from other thread our Z is full street trim with heavy bodykit and wheels. Weighs in at 3750 with driver. However, we do have the th350 and a small shot of nitrous which definitely make a big difference.

thekind-you didnt offend me at all, I just thought it wasnt fair to compare stock block to built motor and say it isnt low boost. This is WG spring power as low as I can go on my set-up...

Jason-what you are referring to was brought up to me. The car isnt "square" coach on here had PM'd me sopme GREAT info and had offered this as a suggestion to look into. Basically the distance from center of front wheel to center of rear wheel (wheel base) from drivers side compared to pass side isnt even. Using adjustable traction rods and setting that measuremenet close then re-aligning could fix everything. I will try a few more passes and if it persists I'll realign the car and look into this. I'll post some measurements tonight. Thanks again for the advice, very much appreciated and Id still like to hear from Eric when he has a minute. No rush it will be a few weeks before I return to the track.

Alberto I will have Eric pm you when he gets a chance in the next few days. It sounds like the exact same problem. Our car was the same way, little to no symptoms on the street and a handfull at the track. Of course traction is such an issue on the street that I think most will only encounter it at the track.
