Wanted to ask you...I know you have a basemodel...but do you take out the spare tire...low fuel...etc.? I notice launching around 2.5k rpm with no spare and little gas results in horrible tractions issues for me....
I don't remove anything, as it is stock times I am shooting for. Once you remove the spare, I consider it modified.

I had between a 1/4 and 1/2 a tank of gas. When I launch it at low rpms, I have to slip it very quickly, or even then the pedal will drop. I can't wait for the fix. I can only imagine how nice it will be, to launch it like I want too.

13.2 is a good time for me to absorb into my brain but a 107 trap speed seems too intense for me to handle. Good times man.. and awesome driver. I hope to see more high a$$ traps from other members on the board.

edit
do you think running 93 versus 91 would make a difference? Here in cali we mostly only have 91..

VeeTec, all I have to say is congrats on the amazing stock time/trap. However, you do not hold the record, according to this post...

Seems to be the SMB color that adds the hp...

Congrats on an amazing trap speed. In my time here I've never seen anyone come even close to that.

x2... only difference with me is I was retarded and filled up before I went to the track. weight reduction = modded.

What were you launching at? ~3K is stuck in my head for some reason but that maybe peaks method.

I like 5,000 actually....it seems to bog a bit otherwise.

And +1 on the BP gas - the shell didn't run as well for me either when I tried it. I've been trying to stick to chevron for the track though, it produces equal or better results for me and costs less (typically at least).

5K?? Seriously? I went from ~1000rpm! Holy No wonder you guys are getting those things down the track so quickly... 350Zs have to hook up like crazy or you guys don't make alot of torque that low in the power band..I couldn't imagine!

FWIW I run BP on my end as well, shell and my car don't get along well at all.

I also smell clutch like crazy every run. The car grips well, but a lot of it is clutch work.

We don't have LS torque down low, and we have enough grip to need to stay above 3,000 or we bog.

My factory clutch now has 76K on it..I feel really uneasy about riding/slipping it too much. I did some major damage on the last trip to the track I think. I still can't believe how well the 07s are getting down the track. I held on for a while still thinking the 07 wasn't much quicker/faster than the previous models but I couldn't have been more wrong in this case.

Wow

That's a strong stock clutch then, especially if you're tracking it.

My stocker lasted around 8k. Over 100 launches, but it's the bad ones that did it in. Not bad for an AWD car though.

Im surprised my clutch lasted 12k miles so far....I think I tracked it almost every weekend since this spring. Clutch is showing some wear as there is a lot of lag in between shifts

2001+ LS1 cars have LS6 factory clutches...I've heard of many LS6 Z06 cars running 100's of passes with DRs on this clutch and Katech said the LS6 clutch was 'adaquete' to hold the 525+ HP LS6 CTS-V they built so my car with a whopping ~350hp isn't doing much to it. I think I am about out of time on it though..last passes I made involved heating up the clutch a bit much. It's holding up for my day to day travel but I don't think it would survive many more passes at the strip.

Of course my car has only seen the strip 3 times in it's life and has only had maybe 15 passes total. It's babied.

Switch your clutch fluid to Motul 600 High temp fluid. Problem solved.

You are most likely boiling the clutch fluid with all those hard launches. Also replacing your clutch line to SS will also add protection from your clutch fluid from overheating. I did this and never had a problem since with the clutch sticking.
