haha..yeah I was going to do the same thing (our SS trim came with 265 width tires).. I agree though..it's a modification..no way around that. It will be interesting to see how things go with more rubber in back.

I expect great things from you 07 guys next year.

i just want someone with a stock 07 to get 12.99999 at least lol... because it wont be me

Not saying it won't/can't be done but I think some of you guys fail to comprehend how difficult it is to pull that off considering the results that have already been posted.

i wouldn't consider that stock because the trim level that it comes on is heavier than what your is, but i still wanna see how much better u can get with the wider tires, keep in mind, they're 19's, so they have less sidewall, making it a bit harder to launch. looking forward to results

the m3 guy, what are the rest of his 60ft's like, does he have more 1.7's or really low 1.8's?

cant wait till feb for the local track to open

Honestly after driving on the 265's for about 300 yards (I work across the street from my mechanics shop ) they have less grip than the 245 width tire I had thrown on as a replacement.

RE-01R - extremely sticky tire. I'm curious to see what the guy who traded wheels with me can net in a 60', I wouldn't be surprised with low 1.8's.

The wheels are more than anything a mod to look at.

The Re-01R's In had put on Tuesday, I drove maybe 15 miles on them. No trips down the track, they are for the future owner of my wheels. SR-20 swapped 240 with some supporting powertrain mods. He had the track wheels and the back was giving him clearance issues, not really a soft enough tire, and for a forged 19 its surprisingly heavy. He wanted to trade so he'd get more sidewall and clearance - and we were both happy with the deal we made. I was just commenting that it was an awesome tire (but will wear fast).

My tires were stock until Tuesday, and I've got 3 or 4 more 13.2 slips from last week that I had plenty more witnesses to. The track was slick though, so my 60's were mid/upper 1.9's, not enough to break my previous times, and the weather was only marginally cooler.

I haven't jumped on M3 forums yet and searched, but I'd imagine its not. The guy has a lot of people backing it was a real run and hes just a good driver, and I don't think its really expected to see 1 fluke run like that, he probably ran very well all through the session and that was just his best run. I'll look when I get a chance though.

Oh come on..the track was slick and you pulled 1.9s on stock tire? LOL

The track I raced on was made of ice then.

J/K..I know you are a talented driver..the 60ft shows. Track Prep isn't always very good and varies so much track to track/day to day it scares me.

I quit running because I almost lost the car shifting to 2nd. I'd managed to minimize the slip (well off the line too ) and did a quick shift (not power shifting now) and the car just went sideways. I had to get out of the gas really hard and I thought it was going to cross into the other lane. I waited 20 minutes after that before leaving, asked a worker, they said they were done with prep for the night so I left. I couldn't risk wrecking because the track was so slick.

Don't forget, Potenza's are extra soft and I was working the car to get those times.

AH I see what you mean..it was sticky at the tree but the rest of the track was slick. Makes more sense.

Just gonna try out the DR's a bit more during spring and just change out the tires. The Jegs wheels are nice and light.

If I ever mod mine, I already have a set of DR's and wheels.

Keeping it stock for now though.
