Spining
When I shift from 1st to 2nd gear I keep spinging the rear tires. All the way through 2nd the rear is spining and then when i go from 2nd the 3rd the rear spins but stops mid 3rd gear. I want to either get rid of the spin or limit it with the stock tires if possible. Does that help?

I wish I had that in front of me...
But I know that the 745 does run a low 14, and since from what I remember he was 1/2 car in front I was not far behind. I know if I didnt spin out through 2nd and some of 3rd I would have pulled ahead. Thats what lead me to my question of how to limit that spin or what you guys do.

I think the word you are looking for is "spinning"
If you are spinning your rear tyres then obviously you are flooring it too hard for what the tyres can handle, pretty simple really. If your wheels start to spin ease of the throttle and squeese it back on rather than just flooring the pedal.
I somehow doubt it's the car that needs modifying in this instance

this is a terrible thread.
and it's spinning is what people are insinuating, not spining or spinging or spooging.
listen it's simple:
your car should not be losing traction like this unless you are driving it over the limit of tire adhesion (or if you are Turbocharged or something). if you pop the clutch when you let off it will kill your traction, if your tires are bald it will kill your traction, if your alignment is off it will kill your traction.
TTD:
1 - check your alignment
2 - check your tire tread for improper wear or extreme wear
3 - learn how to launch your car and shift properly

I guess I have to get used to coming off the gas between shifts.
Motormouth - Tires are not new, around 31K miles on them, but not bald! Alignment feels ok, have not had that checked. Still learning car thats why I asked
Scotts - Thanks

no problem, alot of guys seem to have problems with traction lately and I just don't understand it.
if you are powershifting, and I am no authority on that, as long as you are transitioning correctly, there doesn't need to be copious amounts of wheel spin... it sounds like you are popping the clutch by coming off it too fast possibly. but I can't comment 100% on that.
I have had just about every type of shifting done in my car and none netted large amounts of wheel spin as a result. I have had normal shifting, powershifting and clutchless shifting and they all retained traction.
if you car is relatively stock, even agressive driving never netted me tremendous wheel spin through three gears with consistency. when it is cold, expect a significant drop in traction if you have the Potenzas as I think they are a summer tire. also, they suck in the rain

Yes I am using the stock tires and it was around 40* out. When I shift I am not letting off the gas or powershifting. Maybe it was both combined. Like I said it wasnt till I was 1/2 way through 3rd gear I had grip again. My take off was perfect for driving a RWD car and no spin
