The jacket rule is a new rule for after market FI that was put in place last yr.
Exactly. Nowhere does it say anything about 5 point roll bar, door bar or harness. I believe that you have to be running faster than 10.99 or 11.99 for that. Don't hold me to that though because I am not exactly sure.

I'm agreeing with you. The info you are giving is the same as in the rulebook.

BTW, I just took a look at the rulebook regarding driveshaft loops. It says if you are rwd and running 13.99 or quicker with slicks and 11.49 or quicker with street tires, you must have a driveshaft loop. So basically as long as you are not quicker than 11.49 on your DR's, then you don't need a driveshaft loop.

You 'is' correct. I was advised of this earlier this year when I went.

If you are faster than 11.50, you need all of the above. This I'm sure of, as I was made well-aware of it a few times recently.

This is news to me, and one that a track as popular as Sears Point is not enforcing. Thanks for the info though. I'll tell our local crowd to expect some problems in the near future.

Correct. If you are running 11.49 or quicker, you do need this. I doubt my G will be that quick.

The only time that I ran my car was at LACR (Palmdale) which is a high altitude track and on that day it was over 100 degrees until about 9pm at night. On my first run, my street tires (Toyo T1-R's on 19 inch Work VS-XX's) spun like crazy in first and second gear and my clutch got stuck to the floor. So my ET that night was for ****. So I honestly have no idea what I am running. I'm guestimating that I will be in the high to mid 12's. I now have an Exedy clutch and and will be running on DR's. Plus the weather at Cali Speedway should be very nice and cool too.

the rule went into effect in 'feb of 2006'. If theyre not enforcing it now.......will they ever?

Funny thing was, the tech asked me if it was stock or after market. Maybe its just me but the bracket and mounting location look very un oem.

You will be good with a helmet and jacket. Have fun.

Good point, so who knows. It doesn't affect me anyway. I suppose if you were doing real NHRA or IDRC racing they would inspect more thoroughly, but at these test-n-tune or bracket series events, they don't inspect as much.

I have a helmet identical to this that i bought from a company new for around 40-50 bucks for my seed racer costume. It was the same rating and I used it at the track.

Since then I have raced with the M on my Helmet

I think you need to look again...the $69.95 helmets are M2005

I have a simpson Bandit open face one that I'll sell you for $100. It's been used 4 times and looks like new.
