I've read that unbolting the front sway bar (removing one endlink) helps substantially in transferring weight rear-ward.
Has anyone ever tried this in a Z? If so, did you leave the rear intact (or notice a difference at all?).
I'm going to the track on the 19th (hopefully) so I'm tempted to try a few unorthodox things like removing an endlink, etc.
Any other simple suggestions to set the car up better?

take everything out of the car, spare, jack, seat if u don't mind the work, muffler from the mid pipe (stock muffler is pretty heavy, and u'd gain a couple hp). take off the plenum cover and chill the plenum with ice between runs, this might help, i don't know how much, never tried it
if u wanna go really crazy u can get a slightly positive camber alignment so that when u launch ur camber is at 0* and u have the full tire flat on the ground, also 0 toe front and rear. i supposed it would be a guess and check as far as getting the right camber dialed in
i don't know about the swaybar thing though

Well, I'm not looking to remove everything of the car (although I knew that trick already).
And I'm not going to get an alignment for one trip, I was looking for a simple change that I could do in 10-15 minutes like that.
Mustang guys often remove the sway because it lets the car lift the left front more and thus rotate more weight to the right rear. This obviously helps move weight more rearward in general, which is supposed to help.
I'm much more aware of the weight reduction, alignment (although a good point for others) and suspension advantages/disadvantages we have than you guys are giving me credit.
And I'm happy with my car speedwise for now, I don't graduate and get a "real" paying job for another 4 months, so I'm stuck on part time salary which means just making payments and buying trinkets. Graduation should net me a few goodies.
