Is anyone going out to the Bradenton strip on Thursday night for test & tune? I've been wanting to get out there for some time, and I finally have a chance this Thursday. I was just wondering if there were many people from the forum here that frequent that strip. It would also be nice to have another member there to verify that my car is stock in case I happen to run a very nice time (but I'm not banking on that). I've never ran a Z before, but I've done 100's of runs with MT LS1's.

My ultimate goal is a 13.0 (I believe it's possible), but I'll be content with a 13.5 for the first night of runs ever in a Z.

 

I will be once my car is ready for it.

 

There will be several of us racing on Feb 9th @ Bradenton.

 

Yeah, I seen that. I assume that's bracket racing? I wouldn't stand a chance. I've never ran my Z yet and it's a MT. I know my repeatability is not going to be good enough just yet. My times are probably going to vary by as much as .3-.4 seconds or more, all dependant on my launch and r/t.

If it's not bracket racing then I know I don't stand a chance since I'm 100% stock. I'll just keep it to test & tune for now.

 

Correct its not bracket racing. This event is not about winning or losing, its about coming out and seeing what you and your car can do in the 1/4 mile.Its a good way to practice practice practice

 

Ah, I see. I might be interested then. That's next Saturday then, right? I'll have to check a few things and get back to you guys on that.

 

I'm headed towards the track now (gotta make a couple of pitstops). Hopefully I'll have a nice slip to post for my first time at the track with my Z when I get back. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

The event is sold out, so if you want to race you need to get a spot. Check with member Taurran to see if he has sold his spot yet.
I'm hoping to get in the 10's.
If you have the extra money get some Welds and DR's, that way you'll always have them when you want to go to the track. If you order them from Jegs they can deliver them to you in 3 days, if their in stock.
