I got to run as long as I wanted (aka till the clutch broke) last week. If I hadn't broken I would have gotten 15-18 runs this week. Some test and tunes can get you plenty of runs.

Here's one way you can test the tire pressure theory, on a closed course.

Do a little burn out with the stock pressure, then lower it down to 18-20 lbs, and do it again.

You should have a nice even contact patch, observed with the acceleration scuff marks, with the stock pressure, as the tires are designed to run at the level.

When you go too low, you should have dark outer edges, and light or very little marks towards the center, as the tire will bow from the lack of pressure, which causes the over deflection.

I learned about over defelection years ago, while in Accident Investigation school. You would be surprised how many people run with tires pressure which is too low, because they won't take the time to check.

If you go to Atco's website, they make no mention of it being a level or sloped surface. If you go to NHRA's website, no mention of either is made as well.

Anyone near there that could take GPS readings at the staging area and finish line? That would indicate proof, yet I'm not aware of anyone who has done so.

So far, all I'm going by is Google Earth, which indicates a downhill slope. That is, however; more evidence than there is indicating it it a level surface.
I think it's really funny that you're using google earth to find the elevation.. I work for a civil engineering company and we tryed to check elevations on google earth compared to surveys here..

They're off by 10-15 ft. most of the time. You can't use google earth to check the elevation on a small area like that, it's completely worthless.

when I ran my stock tires, I ran stock pressure. Summer time round 38-40psi.
I pulled many 1.9-2.0's with it

Depending on the area, some placed have laser topographical images available. I know I can get a lot of it for my area and for SE coastal FL, but its knowing who to e-mail to get it in my case.

Some mapping software has accurate stuff, but google earth might be using outdated quad maps.

I'll look. I also agree about some of the images being outdated. Just so happened, for that track, elevation was recorded (it isn't for some tracks).

I checked different websites for elevation info, and depending on the source, it varies anywhere from being listed at ~33 feet or ~90 feet.

What I was saying though, is there was a survey done around the 1920's, and more thoroughly in the 1930's (for some areas) that gave 5' elevation changes. They are plotted on what are called quadrangle maps (USGS did the survey for what its worth). Those have no been digitized into GIS mapping systems for most local government areas so that users can access the information more quickly. Because of that google has little trouble in getting information, just that if the track was regraded during its construction, and the information google shows is from the quadrangle map, it won't be the same...

let me know you go back to the gains track. I went tonight and while I saw plenty of Z/Gs in parking lot nobody was running. I need more practice and perhaps your wisdom.

Not even close. Abuse snapped the pressure plates bands (guessing) after repeated heat cycling.

1300 or so total cost for flwheel and clutch installed

I hitting that "downhill track" again tonight but the temps are much warmer, around 70 degrees now. Borrowed a helmet too. And I'll post up any decent slips...hopefully better ones.

I doubt you'll improve with the temp differences. I'd be surprised if you beat the 13.239 I posted from ~70 degree temps to be honest.

Be careful btw...verdict was I flew the flywheel so it flexed forward and back

^ What exactly does that mean (causes, results, effects, etc)? What are its symptoms (readily noticeable and the unnoticeable)?
