Yeah, I broke the 2nd and had a good number of runs. It all depends on the weather. I should be there just to watch this coming week and to run again the following. Still trying to get miles on my clutch.

I've found that you get about 5 runs between 7:00 at 7:45, so the key is to get there early and be staged before they open the track itself.

it's tough sometimes getting off work in time and getting down there early coming from jax. I swear, i have over 250 passes down there spread out over 40 trips or so to that track and I have gotten about a 1/4 of those runs on just 3 of those trips. So hit or miss, I get so mad.

I know, I've got upwards of 300 passes there and 10% of those came on one night. Some nights its 20 runs no problem, some you're lucky to get 3 or 4. Nature of the game, can't blame the track for it.

I never would have expected it... (AMGs are sleepers IMHO, few people have a clue what they are packing when they come across one on the street.)...

Default going to track this weekend. . .

There was a small to medium sized crowd so I got a decent number of runs in. Actually 11 runs in total before they cut my night short and wouldn't let me run anymore because I do not have a helmet. Air temps were in the low 40s which seemed perfect for good times.

For the record my 07 is still 100% stock down to the tire. My TurboXS exhaust will be going on this weekend or next week sometime. I did get my slave cylinder recall done since the last track outing.

At my previous track visits, I have never did any sort of burnout or "tire cleaning" spinning. I recently watched VeeTec's video of his drag run with his 2 step burnout for us Base model guys. I really like his theory and decided to put it to use...resulted in many 2.0xx 60' times, much better than my previous best of 2.227 in my 13.465 run.

Anyway, I have a new PB for time and trap speed.

Fastest trap was 107.94 mph!!! Thats getting close to 108 mph territory.

Again, I'm still all stock. Car was running strong and I was finally getting my technique right. Launch rpms were in the 2500-3000 range.

13.150 @ 107.62 with a 2.026 60'

Car #327
well then it sounds like taking a look at Veetecs video may be worth lookin at. . .where can i take a look at it. . .i've always done small burnouts but probably had too much air in my tires at factory spec 35 psi in about 60 degree weather last winter and couldn't get past 13.74 with way too much wheelhop off the line. . .my vehicle is 100% stock base model as well except i just had to replace the rear tires at 18k miles, went with Falken 452's at factory size. . .goin to track this saturday at noproblemraceway.com here in louisiana but at much hotter temperatures. . .hope i can post a much better time. . .

Im not sure where I found the link but the video was on youtube. It's basically 2 quick little burnouts to clean both the tires. I've always ran at stock 35 psi on stock tires so far.

i'll see if i can find the video, curious if it's anything different from what i normally do. . .stock pressure huh, that's what i was runnin on. . .guess i shouldn't be so hard on the throttle when i get excited right before green . . .i'm going to try a little bit lower psi tomorrow night. . .it just might be what i need for my driving style. . .thanks. . .

Leave the pressure. Give it less than full throttle and be fairly gentle with the clutch.

If you think its hard now...wait for a stiffer clutch. My car doesn't come off the line near as hard because I lost my driving ability going from a couple inches of soft travel to an inch or so of stiff travel in the release point.
