Well I have read good things about those tires, people hook up at 550+whp you should be fine. Perhaps you are being too aggressive with the throttle? Id launch at 4000rpm's to start and slowly apply throttle as you let out the clutch at a mediocre speed. Hardest part for new guys is learning the feeling of the tires hooking up. You cant just dump the clutch and expect it to hook.

Dont go WOT until the car has traction.

edit-Id also run 27psi next time. 40psi is really high.

What pressure in tires?

Did you do a quick spin of the tires after going AROUND the water box?

Did you shift at redline?

You need to be your worst critic. Thats how I got better at driving Id critique myself until I felt I couldnt possibly shift any faster. Get back out and run better times they wont get worst than your first time
yes i did but i think its not that good to be honest

yes i did shift at redline but some times let say at 1 or 2 gear i don't know if the redline should get there that fast or because of the tire spin the rpm go high really fast so i shift throw these gears as fast as it get to the redline ...

thanks for u help sure am gonna get better times with great guys like u on this forum helping guys like me

that what i did acutely just dumped the clutch woot ..

so what your saying i should lunch it at 4000 like i did but without going woot i meant just step on the gas easily until i feel the tires hocked up good right !!

about the part of 27psi sure will do that

Definitely lower the tire pressure, it'll help you hook, and dumping the clutch all at once isn't helping either. Practice practice practice...You'll break into the 12's in no time.

Wow man.. i really hope u get the hang of it and start hitting some awesome times. Northridge, cool im up in valencia. I used to go to LACR track but they got closed down cause of the crazyness in elevation nobody wanted to run there. So now Irwindale Speed way off the 210 is the closest. Im lookin to do my first run in the Z soon.

you need to get drag radials otherwise all you do is spin.
Cali speedway is high on eleveation and bad head wind I did a 12.00 with 430whp on drag radials there. It's not a fast track by any means.

You should go to Irwindale on thurdays' to practise, it's a great track even though only 1/8 mile but that's the place to work on your 60's

I remember you.

the MT's are great but I must say I like the Hoosiers better now, best tires I've ever run.

I'm running on Hossiers Drag Radials 275/50/15 on Centerline Terminator wheels (use regular Lug nuts)
here's a link for the tires"
