Default LED strips for DRL

anyone tried using LED strips to replace the reflector's on the stock front bumpers? I only managed to find one person who had posted about it but have had no luck contacting them and I can't seem to find kits or any information on a DIY. And yes I did try google, the best I found was some useless videos showing them off nothing informative

Diode Dynamics IIRC retrofits LEDs into reflectors, try contacting member jhc. I've couple a few on ebay. I made my own using genuine Philips DRL LEDs and they are extremely bright.

I did not do a writeup cause there are already several.

White markers from Z1, $60. Bake in full size (not toaster) 5min at 250F. Let cool, then crack open w putty knife. Drill a 3mm hole for wires.
Silicone is better than superglue for led strip from Diode Dynamics. Clamp for 1 hr. (Superglue fogged the 1st one i did, had to open it back up and clean the inside w acetone). Reassemble and seal w silicone.

3M connectors for power from the small, low bulb inside headlight, comes on with park lights. Reinstall fender liner. gl, I'll find a pic for you.

thanks jhc looks great and very bright, I'm thinking of just running them onto a rocker/toggle switch to use up the free space next to my heated seats buttons.

Even better. Good luck with your project. btw if you have a helper to pull the pass side fascia out, you do not have to remove your windshield washer tank. Def recommend that option. A mini right-angle phillips rachet is helpful also.

Using vinyl tape to clamp while silicone sets.
