1.7's are possible with slicks.

I hit low 1.8's with DR's, with the 04. I may take the DR's to the track one day soon, just to see what the difference is. Right now I still think I can reach a 12.9 with street tires.

Congrats on your times.

The 1.8 is very respectable for your power levels, and you may get lucky every now and then and hit a high 1.7, but I can't imagine you going much lower. Launching at 6-7k rpm over and over, somethings got to break eventually. Were you having any wheel spin when launching at those rpm levels? I might of missed it but are you using a 26" tire and stock height suspension? What did you have Techno Square flash your rev limiter to?

I was talking with Alberto who loaned me the slicks and he mentioned that his NA personal best was a 1.84. I have a great deal of respect for his driving abilities so I think 1.8s are pretty good, I just think 1.7s are possible with better weather. The other HRs are running 13.4s-13.7s. Jon who ran 12s once is now running around 13.1-13.3 in this weather. I'm confident that in better weather and a good launch the car can do 12.7-12.8.

Those that have reported low 13s stock are kickass drivers so I don't expect the same results from myself since I am average at best.

I was preloading the drivetrain to prevent breaking anything but what is the most common thing to break? The axle, clutch? any other parts to really worry about? If there was any wheelspin at all I damn sure didn't feel it or hear it. I am waiting for Alberto to post vids of a few of the launches so I can analyze them from outside the car. And yes its stock suspension and the slicks are Alberto's setup. All I know is that they are 16 inch wheels to clear brembos. BTW technosquare set the rev limit to 8K rpms.

Russell, I looked through the vids that I had.. I think this is you?

You had some really good launches!!! You're a maniac on those DR's! You even got a 1.8 with your front tires!! Some people have to stage with their rears to do that well!!!

He's the silver car (at least I'm pretty sure that's him) The white car is FI, and this wasn't Rkemps best run... but I posted the vid for the launch, not the race. I've been to the track w/ him a few times and he runs very well. He ran a 13.21 with minimal mods, I think that deserves mad respect.

Thats right I forgot, he's not FI....But I would bet my last dollar that that is not a 1.8 60'. If thats the case that that was a 1.8 60' by him then the guy in the white Z with street tires probably put down a 1.6 60', which I highly doubt. Please don't get me wrong,I'm not trying to disrepect him. I respect everyone that ACTUALLY races their cars and not just boasts about their dyno queen numbers. If you have some more vids, please post them. Down here in Florida its been raining every day so its hard to get to the track so watching some vids of other Z's racing will have to do.
Have you been to the track since the last event ???

lol I didn't think you were disrespecting him. That wasn't his best run, but he can launch pretty well, he's jumped me several times off the line and I hit 1.9 60's.. I wish I had a better video to post, I was running so much that day... my best friend was taking these vids. his photobucket is HKS-Z if you wanna take a look at them. I havn't run in about 15 days, During my last run I broke a wheel bearing so the car was out of comission for about a week. We're going next weekend to capitol raceway I think. .. It's been REALLY hot this month, no point in stressing the engine for slow numbers.

OH.. one more thing... i LOVE his parents!!!!!! I wish they'd adopt me!!

Haha I remember that run. That was when I was running PolarbearPPW(i think thats his screenname.) I got over zealous with runs back to back and my clutch stuck to the floor on that run. And coachk it def. wasnt a 1.8. It was a 2.5 if I'm not mistaken, but thats what multiple high rpm launches do to a stock clutch lol. Alberto has the good runs on video including a couple c5 corvette kills and that white Galaxy that was there.

By the way, Sondra my parents are signing the adoption papers as we speak! lol!

I dont think so I think that was Dave(BigSlim350z). He has grudge matches with Zain(red vette) everytime we go. Dave has a TT kit tho so he's about .2 or .3 tenths faster than me. The vette I slayed was maroonish lol.

the silver Z against the red vette was me. I was unfortunately on street tires and had to settle for weaksauce launches at 3000 rpms. Next time i'll probably use slicks. I did holeshot the vette every time though due to 0.03 - 0.05 reaction times. However, I had to settle for 2.0 - 2.2 60' times.

and it's open right now too

on the other hand, my 15" summit wheels and MT DR's still haven't come in yet been waiting like over 4 months so far...

It's embarrassing to have the power to compete against the big boys, but get shut down because of no traction from crappy 295 toyo T1R's...
