Default DSS stage two axles is there a right and left side?

I am not sure where else to post this question since drag racers are the most likely to have upgraded axles I thought I would try here. Is there a right and left side? I am sure there is and I think I got it backwards! One axle seems to stick out of the hub farther than the other. The only thing I can come up with is that they must be side specific and I got them wrong. The car drives fine but the DS has an extra two threads after the cotter pin hole the PS only 1/2 the cotter pin hole is visable?

Yes there are 2 distinguished sides

I took both stockers off, and noticed slight length differences. Then I took both DSS (5's) and neither matched up to stock, so I just installed the shorter and longer in their respective sides and no issues. Both of my axles were slightly longer than stock.

Update they were in the proper sides the longer of the two goes on the passenger side. However mine is still about 1/2 the cotter pin hole too short?? I looked it over and cant see any problems arising I just used a thinner cotter pin until DSS opens on Monday and see what they have to say.

Just looked through the service manual and it makes no distinction for either the driver or passenger side axles on an 05 g35 coupe at least.
