Default First numbers with the M tonight

Let's just say it's not very fun drag racing when the ambient temp is 108 degrees.

Overall im very impressed with the car's performance bone stock. She ran a 14.11@100.83 mph with a 2.06 60ft. I raced an orange Z roadster and whipped his ****ing ***. 14.2 to his 14.8. All i have done is Royal purple XPR engine oil, M1 filter, Max ATF transmission fluid, new NGK plugs and a crappy pepboys air filter. Can't wait to get some mods.

Stupidest rule at ANY track. I think it would be good for a 9 second car but not for a 13 second one.

Well, I would be looking to be closer to the 9 second run. Or course, the tech didn't know that. With a vert you cannot run below 13.5 without a roll bar. I was planning on 1 run and then getting kicked out. I will be trying to go next Friday again.

Back on topic, how many runs did you get in? There was like no waiting, which I'm sure was nice. Was this your first time on a track in any car?

Those M's are quick right from the factory. How much did your mods seem to do for it?

I ran twice and was like "**** This" and left. It was too damn hot but i needed a baseline so i went and i've been to firebird about 8 times in my life with my Camaro SS.

The M is only 2 years old so the plugs didn't help that much but the RP probably helped in the least sense. Still can't get over how ****ing sweet this machine is... Speakers built into the seats is so ****ing awesome..

LOL, Coach. I said closer to the 9 second mark than to the 13. you are actually the person I'm gunning for, since you are one of the fastest automatic VQ's. I think low 10's will be coming right away and then maybe we can push it further from there. Who knows until I get a chance to actually run it, though? Everything on times is speculation right now. I don't want to jack his thread with a full list of mods, but I'll post it if he doesn't care.

Congratulations!

I think that's a pretty impressive time. I'm not sure what an M weighs, but I know it's a lot.

before posting a mod list, have you ever broken out of the 12s- high 11s

It has never been down the track, since I just picked the car up. If it can't run 11s with 700whp, a built tranny and slicks, then something went horribly wrong.

That is true really. The fact that its an automatic will probably help you in this case as well. The launch will be easier, the shifts will be gentler etc.

700whp+built tranny+slicks... Sounds like 10's to me. Do you have a build thread on this forum yet. You should start one, and post your times in there, not to hijack this or other threads.

OP, Ive always loved the M's. I said, if I were to buy an Infiniti, it would be to buy a M35/M45. I love the speakers in the seat too. If you could get that car to run mid/low 13's, that would be pretty awesome. Nice DD.

Under the right track conditions, I think he'd run in the high 13's. Firebird is a really slow track, it was very hot out, and it was an open night, so the prep is crappy.

OP- you should run at Speedworld. I'm going to try to go with the Scottsdale Exotics club in September. You should look into that also.

Exotics as in Ferrari's and Lambo's? If so count me in. My goal for the M is low 13's which should be easily attained with some exhaust and intake mods along with good traction from the 275/35 rubber i just ordered.
