Default Hard time launching my Z?

Whats up fellow enthusiasts, now when it comes to me racing starting off at about 30 mph I do just fine! But when I start off from a dig my rear wheels just spin and spin. How can I get a little more launch control? My Zs completely stock. Is there some kind of secret I should know about or should I launch it at a certain rpm??? Please help! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

well the most recent time was when I started from a dig. I rev'd up my engine to about 2000 rpm and when I popped the clutch my rear wheels just spun and as I pressed on the gas I just spun some more! I had to completely take my foot off the gas then gradually put pressure on the gas to get traction! Ohhh and it's not my tires, they have plenty of traction! And also would it be better to drag with TCS on or off?

leave traction control off. Also, with all stock everything and stock tires, I found it was easier to just slip your clutch quickly from around 2500rpm. Don't sidestep it though, or you will just hop or spin. I'm sure others have different oppinions here, but that is just what worked best for me.

Thanks I'll try that. Is it possible to drift with a stock Z?

Welcome. I asked for time slips because I assumed that this was drag racing.

You will find that racers can run 2.0 second 60-foot times on street tires. There is no secret. It just takes practice to find a technique that works for you.

youre dumping the clutch too fast, you need to feather more. when I launch its usually from 2500-2750, the wheels will spin, but you can tell youre getting some traction and you'll get hook around 5500 I think.

Just keep practicing and you'll get it. I typically run a consistant 2.1 with 2.0's about 25% of the time on stock tires

Its called “running start” drag racing. Very popular on the east coast.
