The HR's are making more power stock than the DE's are with bolt ons, so you will need stock wheels, or lighter, and the run of your life, or a mistake on the HR driver's part.
My DE with bolt ons never trapped as high as my HR has stock. I did run a slightly quicker time though, because I had MT DR's on the old Z. Put DR's on my otherwise stock 07, and it's in the high 12's with nothing else, and may get there stock anyway.

His HR will beat your VQ by many lengths from a roll-on. The car is simply way more powerful, but I look forward to the vid.
I compared our ZR to a friend's rev-up. Granted the ZR is a bit heavier, even when I jumped the stab-on-3, he easily reeled me in and passed me every time. The HR would do this same thing to his rev-up, so you are at a distinct disadvantage.

grr, ok, so i'm doomed to lose, kinda what i needed to know, gotta hurry up and get my tint and pioneer touchscreen dvd player installed, so after i lose i can still show the ladies my car is nicer than his
and on a side note: has anyone went from the stock tire size to 285 or so wide tires? if so is their a considerable amount of different in terms of spinning coming off the line? i know my 285s spin pretty easy, just dont know if its any better than stock or not
edit: and i've been planning on getting smaller wheels, not just for racing but for drifting too, but i wont have the money for until sometime in 09, my bike needs some mods too

What brand and model are the 20s, btw? I'll tell you if they weigh 3lbs more or not. And also, they can weigh the same, but will still slow down the car, just because they are 2'' further away from the hub.

atleast i dont have to keep having 3rd gear fixed in my car
talk about worthless, seriously though, go play in traffic, or how bout better yet, find a dyno station near me in va, lets go take my car to the dyno, we can run it twice, once with the k&n and once with the stock airbox, if i have the same or more power you pay, if i have less power with the k&n then i pay? bet you wont do that, loser
LMAO
I have dyno and track tested an AEM CAI vs a JWT PC. Slower at the track and weaksauce on the dyno. But it sounds cool right?
The current tranny has been in over 1.5 yrs now with no issues. People like you who dont actually drag race wouldnt know anything about breaking parts while pushing limits, and Im not going to explain it to you.
Go back to reading Motor Trend 1/4 times and fantasy racing in your head.

i like how you brag about how long your new tranny has been in but then go on to spout off about how parts break while you're pushing the limits, if they break while pushing the limits then it doesn't matter that its been in 1.5 years, shoulda just left that whole statement out, but i do know plenty of people with Zs running 11s who are on less than their 4th transmission
motortrend magazine? reading about 1/4 mile times? you must mistake me for someone who cares about 1/4 times
Your hard headed. You come into a drag forum to BENCH race, and get laughed at. Then you say you dont care about 1/4 times. Then you break down everybody's replies and post something stupid back. If the race takes place in 5 minutes or never, its bench racing, and its for people who generally dont race. Then you get your panties in a wad when people laugh at your 20's, and I tell you the CAI will lose power and you refuse to believe it. I find it hilarious that you think your mods will even overcome the rolling mass you have added to the car. You would have better chances racing your friend with a stock Z. I dont want to dyno your car, I dont want to even meet you. Take the comments for what its worth to you and move on, its a public forum people wont always see things your way.
I've raced a friend with an 07 Z with 1 or 2 mods in my 03 Z with 4 mods and 4 exhaust leaks. I didn't lose. It'll more or less be a driver's race. The HR definitely has the advantage. Also, most people think they're better than they really are. Go race and see what happens.
And stop hating on the DEs, gsingh. I see you disparage our DE engines everywhere. I have proved to you multiple times that it isn't as superior as you think it is. I've not lost to any N/A Z in a race, including HRs. I only have 4 mods and my Z's got the sh1tty DE engine. And where's my $300?

I know it may seem like I hate on the DE's a lot, but I have respect for them also. Seriously though I do not discredit DE engines, nor do I look down upon them.
It is amusing how he endorses cold air intakes and 20 inch wheels. And then goes to say he could beat an HR. He has probably never set foot at a dragstrip. The closest he has gotten to quarter mile times was probably in the Motor Trend magazines, as stated by Alberto. LOL

Seriously though. Why hasnt this thread been deleted yet. We all agreed that this forum was for Drag racing only.
Mods should move this to the general discussion or something. It doesnt belong here.

Im not speaking for the OP but I myself have raced several HR's and never lost, yes it was a dead heat but I didnt lose. I even raced one all the way to the limiter and we where pretty much neck and neck.
I have mods in Sig.
U have to remember guys that the HR Z's are the heaviest. Early 03 and 04's are barely 3200lbs. Mine weighed in at 3055 at the strip.
So the average HR weighs in at 3500+ lbs and dynos around 270 hp
A properly modded 03-04 weighs in at 3200 at most and can dyno as high as 265hp.
I still want a 08 though!!
