07 VS 03 street legal race????
How did I miss this retarded statement? Shoulda, woulda, coulda. "If I hadnt pulled a suck a$$ 2.2 60ft and b!tch shifted the first 3 gears and left so much gas in I woulda ran...." BLAH, BLAHLAME, and fail. Go to the other track and run nearly 1 second faster, until you do, you own an HR that runs slower than my DE did back in 03'
STFU stupid ***. I at least don't blow tranmissions and engines like you do.

And you have no clue about my track here. Plus I am not about 1/4 racing, I am about road racing and I can own your car the way it is on a road course without a problem.
What do you know about my car the way it is? Tein Mono Flex, big tires, upgraded Brembo's, lines, pads etc, the car handles better than it goes down the 1/4, but I dont claim that I would have won TA's had I participated do I?
Your a wanna be know it all, and its obvious you dont know squat, which is why you get so p!ssed when I call you out
Sweet - make it happen. Tell him to put up or shut up. No need to send me a link - I'm subscribed to this thread. Have you ever practiced with a G-tech? One can question the actual 0-60mph time and/or the reported 1320' ET/traps, however, I have used it successfully to learn better launch techniques and ideal shift points as a relative comparison. For 30 bucks, you could practice while the HR guy delays.
I am done with your sorry ***.

Oh, enjoy being a e-thug since you always think YOU are better than others on this forum because your car is faster. WOW!

Oh lordy.. where to begin. I'm replying to multiple people (not quoting to save time), but I hope this clears up some uneducated, inexperienced, and just plain stupid posts made throughout this thread. Sorry for the long post - I just got here to join in on the fun.
It seems that most people arguing here are the ones who don't really know anything about drag racing. It's comical, but it's time to stop.

- The HR Z will almost always edge out the DE Z. The DE Z would have to be well modded and/or have a spectacular driver behind it to take on the more technologically advanced engine, the HR. As somebody who has driven both, raced the HR at the track, etc, I speak from experience. I love my DE Z, but I don't take anything away from the HRs, neither.
- And yes, powerband matters more than torque. Peak anything proves nothing, except maximum whatever at x rpm. That's just a ricer bench race at best.
- BTW, it's HR's best of 13.1 vs DE's best of 13.6. Logic would dictate that DE will probably lose. However, not many of you are taking into account that many of the times listed on our forum is just a time, which is dependent not only on the car itself but also on the DA (plays a big role). Of course, DA is negligible if you're doing a heads up race. Again, don't compare the top 25 list and consider that as fact because in the end, DA plays a much bigger role than you realize (not to mention driver's skill is another huge factor).
- If you get an aftermarket clutch, it doesn't make your car faster, per se. However, what it does is it limits you less on your launch, thus lowering your E.T. There's a big difference there. However, reducing weight will make you faster.
- Also, going to a different track within the same state doesn't magically drop your E.T. by almost a second. Please quit your bullsh1t. If you suck, then you suck. Stop blaming the track, unless you have adequate amount of experience to know what that even means. Track conditions matter, but not if you're a noob to begin with.
@ the video of HR vs DE to prove people wrong.- Please, quit the Z on Z hate. DE or HR, both are still Zs. Nuthugging one only makes you a ricer.
- The video of the OP launching on the street - you have way too much wheelspin and you have room for improvement in the shifting department as well. BTW, I've chirped into 4th multiple times, so chirping 3rd is a moot point. Also, many noob drag racers make the mistake of thinking that they got the **** down after a couple of visits to the track. Your timeslips reflect your level of competence and usually, most people suck until they gather more experience and knowledge. Don't be so naive and arrogant.

Actually yes it does. One track being poorly prepped, and going to one that is usually always prepped good and getting good traction will always make better times. I am not the only Texan from SA that says this. I can send you links to another site of recent talks. I have made some fast passes in other stock cars that were some of the fastest in it's class, but those were FWD cars not RWD. I don't care about 1/4 racing, my love is for Road Racing, and that is where I shine. I have been drag racing and road racing for 18 years. I am not a noob to it.
Btw, thank you for agreeing with my posts in most of your responses. Seems others don't agree with them though. I also have owned two DE G35s and a HR. So I also have experience in all of them.

I wasn't aware that you had more experience than I conveyed in my last post. If that's the case, I apologize. However, from reading your posts, you don't seem to have much knowledge in the drag racing department, if any (same goes for many others who replied here). No offense - it's just what I gathered.
Gsingh - where's my $300!?!
Just taking the fast shifting really slow.
Could you go into a little more detail because I will like to get my launches down. BTW my launches are pretty consistent like those two launches. About the shifting I'm just a little to scared about grinding and messing up

Just taking the fast shifting really slow.edit - With practice you should be able to improve (a lot) your methods. I personally drag race similar to this guy in this video (perhaps, not as aggressive and I don't act retarded after the race

I've chirped in 4th at the track before and I'm stock. Poor track prep can be worse than the street when running on street tires. But chirping in any gear is a loss of power and should be avoided by using proper clutch techniques.
In your first launch, you had too much wheel spin, not to mention wheel hop all over the place. You had no traction, yet you floored it. You probably pulled like a 2.2-2.3 there. In addition, it seems like you short shifted into 3rd and there's no such thing as "fast shifting really slow." That's just slow shifting. You have no force behind your shifts. In your second launch, your launch was better, but you were feathering too much. You still shifted slow and a slight chirp into 3rd is common. All of the above is something you don't want against an HR, which will walk you (many modded DE vs stock HR). If you're afraid of a little grind here and there, you'll never learn to be aggressive enough to pull better times. You learn from your mistakes.

BTW, don't try to replicate the video just yet. He's on a different level with a set up that differs from what you have.
Just work on reducing wheel spin/hop without over compensating, along with faster shifts at redline. You'll know when you do things right, even without having to look at a time slip.
BTW, my350z.com does not condone street racing. Race your friend at a drag strip and report back. Have fun.
