Let's stick to the facts: You have dragged raced 5x, and never in a RWD vehicle. You know someone with an HR who wants to bet you about a drag race. Does that include RT, red lights and a tree? Or will it be like Pinks with a guy in the middle dropping his arms? I assume it's the latter since you said "street-legal race", and you could make up the 0.3-0.5s delta by jumping the start slightly.

As for me posting to be annoying, I posted because I have experience in drag racing in general, including a high HP RWD vehicle. My first pointer to you - chirping gears is not the fastest route to the end.

BTW, your 1991 GSX is not faster than my Z.

 

We can't argue data, and data is what we have and you've presented it. You've shown an approximate 0.3s delta between all reported VQs and HRs.

I think it's equally fair to look at data from someone like Veetec because he: a) is obviously good at drag racing, b) is consistent, c) has reported times for both VQ and HRs in stock form - most likely at the same track and with the same driving style.

He is obviously one of the best of the best, and shows an additional 33% of difference between the two engine configurations.

In either event, .3s or .5s is a significant delta on a drag strip. At 100mph, that's about 7-8 car lengths.

It's not just your sig, it's what you type. Believe me, I'm not the minority in this. My sig simply says what I drive, nothing about being better than anyone. I recognize that there is ALways someone faster (faster car and faster driver).

So when are you going to run him on video already? It seems you are wallowing around with changing tire set-ups. Given your HP, unless you run a drag radial - in general - the size and type of tire you run is regardless unless you are talking about extremes. Just put the $$ up, set the date, and go and run the HR. Don't forget to take our your passenger seat and spare tire. Seems that's the in thing to do to gain that last .001s.

Out of curiosity, how does your Eclipse compare to the cars listed in the 350Z tops lists?

 

Why all the Z on Z violence

 

I Know my car isn't the fastest car on here nor it would be no where near the fastest. My GSX is simply my project car that is taken apart for a rebuilt. She was around the 300-350awhp tuned my RoadRaceEnginering about a 2 years ago. I started to get big ballz and messed with it more to get more power but ended up blowing a lot of gaskets/braking things due to the engine being 16 years old and normal wear and tear. Thats why my sig says "most likely" faster than... Its just a joke. ha ha ha.

Me changing set ups tires? where?? I have 275 rear tires with 9.5 wheel... what are you talking about. Cant wait to smoke that HR then will post the videos up and I will make sure to send you a link to the thread Just give me some time as I have told you my buddy just runs his mouth a lot but I will race him sooner or later

 

Sweet - make it happen. Tell him to put up or shut up. No need to send me a link - I'm subscribed to this thread. Have you ever practiced with a G-tech? One can question the actual 0-60mph time and/or the reported 1320' ET/traps, however, I have used it successfully to learn better launch techniques and ideal shift points as a relative comparison. For 30 bucks, you could practice while the HR guy delays.

LAME, and fail. Go to the other track and run nearly 1 second faster, until you do, you own an HR that runs slower than my DE did back in 03'
