Ran a new best at the strip
Temp was 90F
Humidity was 60-70%
Baro pressure was just over 30.00in hg
no wind
I borrowed my buddies M&H slicks that he runs on his maxima last night. They are 6 inch wide (and look like bicycle tires mounted on my Z) mounted on 15in mazda millena wheels....Not ideal for traction, but better than my S-03s.
I ran 6 times and here are my two best runs.
Clean run, 5000 rpm dump launch
60' 1.94
1/8 ET 8.772
1/8 MPH 80.35
1/4 ET 13.667
1/4 MPH 101.36
tapped rev limiter in 3rd 6000 rpm dump launch
60' 1.84
1/8 ET 8.73
1/8 MPH 79.92
1/4 ET 13.657
1/4 MPH 100.42
Overall I'm happy with the results...I could have used a little more tire as I was spinning the slicks easily and chirping them in 2nd, 3rd AND into 4th.
With some thicker slicks a sub 1.7 60' time is attainable.
I'm going for a 103mph trap once weather cools off.
I also weighed my Touring model and with me in it (160lbs) I came in @ 3312 so just about 3150 curb weight.
not the 3200-3300 lbs that some people seem to think the Z weighs.
BTW I was bone stock besides the slicks...

Nice times...Where did u race? I went to Great Lakes Tues night for fun runs. The best I could pull was a 14.48. But I did beat that pesky Civic. I need to learn how to launch without all the wheelspin and hop drama. Better tires would help too I see.
BTW..If you forgot..We met once on Roosevelt in front of Dominicks a couple months back. How are those rims holding up? I'm planning n getting a set in hyper black.

I was up near Kalamazoo, MI visiting my friend. I pulled a 13.9@100.5 with a 2.0 60' on the stock 18s and RE040s.
Nice to hear from you man....I would have stayed on Roosevelt that night and screwed around some more but I was already late to where I was going. The Rims are GREAT...haven't let me down yet.
I'm moving to Minnesota for 3.5 months on Saturday...but we should hook up sometime next spring and maybe go to the track or something.

Very nice... so with factoring out traction issues (slicks), it seems like it's safe to say a stock Z is capable of 13.5 in perfect conditions.
So what do you think? Low 13's or dipping into a 12.9 with some heavy NA work (internals) and bolt-on's is definitely not impossible.
