Default First time drag - Hilo Dragstrip

It was a rainy day. Lots of delays...waiting around...and in the end, could only drag an 1/8 mile due to the remainder of the track being too wet. So I was pretty dissapointed. Never drag raced before and was looking forward to some 1/4 mile times. Anyhoo...could only get 2 solid runs in before it started raining again. The following is my results: (sorry no scanner in the area)

First Run - (Ran against turbo civic w/ E.T: 10.398)
1/8 mile
RT: 0.626
60': 2.358
E.T.: 9.472
MPH: 76.324

Second Run - (Ran against turbo integra w/ E.T: 9.621)
1/8 mile
RT: 0.564
60': 2.286
E.T.: 9.274
MPH: 78.262

My reaction times need work, I know.
Any estimate as to what my 1/4 times could be?
Both runs I spun my tires in 1st gear. Could've been cause it was still a little wet, but I'm inclined to believe it's just due my inexperience.

I noticed the torque-iness of shifting, after drag racing..going home, smoothened out. Could this be due to a worn clutch? or just a break in of some sort? I never burned my clutch and launched at around 2500 rpm. And it was only a couple runs. Shifts a little easier, but am a little concerned. Any ideas??

Well, I'm open to criticism. I know it just takes more practice and hopefully next time I'll be able to run a full 1/4 mile

Low-mid 14's

R/T means nothing, so ignore that.

You just need seat time and need to work on coming out of the hole, the 60ft times are killing you.

Bench racing arithmetic gives you 14.49 seconds at 97.04 MPH. The car is fine. Driver needs some mods.

Thanks for the comments guys. What would be respectable 60' times with stock tires? I'm guessing 2.00 or maybe a bit under..?

Racers do run 2.0 seconds on street tires. See: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840...ons-stock.html

At sea level it takes the average HR350z about 4.7sec to complete the backhalf of the track. It is a consistent figure that doesn't have to do a whole lot with driver. Using that figure and your 1/8 mile time, you should be able to complete the 1/4 in 14.0-14.2 seconds.

The best drivers at the best prepped track can get 1.9 60' on street tires. 2.0 is considered good. 2.1 is considered ok and anything above that is not so good.

You have a lot of room for improvement.
