I hope I don't get flamed for this but what would you guys say would be the amount of power needed for an average to pretty good Z driver to break into the 11s with street tires?
I know every driver it different and has different driving abilities. I know every car is different and every track is different. Reason why I ask this is looking at the top 25 list it doesn't state how much power they were running so that why I curious as to how much power it would generally take to get into the 11s.

I saw a Z driver at the track in my area do 11.98 on drag slicks making only 400 rwhp on a dyno yet.
To guarantee you to be in the 11s as an average driver on street tires, set up a build that puts out around 650 rwhp.

You should consider refining your goal to hit 11s on DOT DRs. That will make your life a lot easier. Some friends with TT'd 350s run high 11s, and they are 440-480rwhp. Both were on DOT DRs with lousy 1.8-1.9 60's. Don't forget about stock rear diff parts that don't like all that power!
You can get good gains with suspension mods as well, if 11s on street tires is really your goal. Put the rear wheels at slightly POSITIVE camber, like 1/4-1/2 degree. Get adjustable shocks for good front-rear weight transfer --> more grip. Remove/unhook any front sway or strut-tower bars, etc.

its not the diff parts you need to worry about, its the axles. I have not broke an axle and i am at 550 RWHP, i can credit that to the bias ply ET Streets I use.

I looked at the list also but do not see your name.
If you race regularly you will know if you are sitting at the staging lights with a 11.XX second car. Race in a class like all-motor 6 cylinder and 6 cylinder with power adder. You will get to know cars and their capabilities. Its much better than "How much power?" guessing.

You won't see my name there since I've never even been to the track. I just wanted to get a general idea of how much power it may take and how much power it took others to get into that range. I know there are tons of other factors when it comes to drag racing, I'm not trying to ask "if I have 500 whp will I be guaranteed to run 11's". I also want to know because it'll help me determine what type of engine build I would want to do. Bigslim provided the type of answer I was looking for. If I know it can be done with 400 whp I may shoot for 400 whp and work on my driving skill and other factors from there, etc.

fwiw I ran a 12.4 @113 with 400 hp and a vortech, and I only ran a 11.7 @125 with my tt setup. I didnt have much seat time (only 4 passes or so ) but if anything having that much power made it ridiculously harder to drive. I probably could have ran a better time with about 500 hp
I haven't done it yet....haven't been on a tire worthy of accellerating from a stop on yet.....this season I will.....but the power is obviously there (alreeady doing 121-125mph traps spinning through the 1/8th, hell even picked up ~49mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4 one time 68-117mph lol).

Thats a pretty impressive set-up. Most likely you will want to post your time here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233840
I did it with less than 400whp on slicks. BUT, DR's can achieve the same 60ft's I ran 11's on (1.7-1.86), so that is easy. Of course most of the guys on the forum dont hit 11's stock block, or lower than mid 11's even built.
Id say 450whp = 11.9999 for a crapo driver.

Thanks everyone for the answers. I have a much better idea of which route I wanna take now. And davidv I don't know what makes you think I'm "making excuses" and "benchracing" but I'm just going to let it go.
What is your setup/planned setup? Where are you at in Chi?
