Default Any suggestions?

So I took my Z to the track for the first time today. It is a 2004 base model. It has 18 inch Rota P45s, stillen rear wing, K&N drop in filter, and a custom catless true dual exhaust. I had a horrible time getting it right. Missed a couple shifts, but mainly couldn't hook up. I had to come of the line kinda easy, and then had alot of problems with it spinning the tires going into 2nd. My best time was 14.46@101mph. Any suggestions on how to improve that? I know performance mods would help, but looking for ideas on how to get traction, like what rpm to shift or any suggestions along those lines.

Practice, Practice, Practice. Go back to the track and just find out what works for you. Start with slow, low RPM launches and if you're having issues with traction going into second then ease into it a litte more. Eventually you'll get a feel for your car on the track and it will be a piece of cake to rip off 13s...

5 years of 350Z racing, and I have a envelope full on 14.X second time slips. I just don't post them here. No big deal.

What to be a top-25 drag racer? Then get your butt out there every weekend and race!

Did you drop your tire pressure?

Seat time is essential. More mods wont help, if you dont get the driving right

Specifically work on the clutch release/throttle input off the line. If you cant get the first 60ft down to 2.0 IMO, the run wont be anywhere near ideal on street tires.

btw-what was your 60ft?

Based on his ET/Trap I'll venture a guess that he was in the 2.3-2.4 range...

.9334 Reaction
2.4672 60ft
6.4069 330ft
9.5661 1/8 @ 79.39
12.2234 1000ft @ 92.12
14.4601 1/4 @ 101.49

I was running tires fully inflated. Might try lowering them some next time I go out there.

Is my time even decent for a first time with test pipes, true dual exhaust, and drop in filter?

Damn, I'm good... :P

Your trap is decent for your first time and your time will come down significantly with a better 60'.....
