Default NORCAL: Infineon Raceway or Sacramento Raceway? Wed Drag Nights

Infineon Raceway $25 / Sacramento Raceway $15

Wednesday Drag Days COMPARISON !!!

What are the goods and the bads on each tracks?

- Pavement/Track (stickier)

- Setting Drag Time (some say Sac is easier)

- Race Rotation/Circulation (faster to set next racer, less wait, more race times)

- The feeling at home (which are you more comfortable with)

- more crowd in bleechers (could affect driving concentration)

- ratio of muscle/import (more muscle cars could be intimidating) not my home

- workers/employees (courteous?)

- road/freeway to get there (bumps, potholes, dirt gravel etc.)

This is probably more appropriate in the regional forum.

Sears usually has a head wind - just the nature of the track, so most say Sac is faster.

The crowd at either place is hit-or-miss. I'd go to whatever one is closer, as I hate I80 traffic headed to Sac.

Not much crowd at either place, so don't let that sway you.

Be sure to note if you are attending a test-n-tune (i.e. open drag racing, run till they close or you break) versus bracket racing. Wed night drags at Sears is bracket, and can get very crowded. Two practice runs, one timed run and you can be headed home.

Bottom line: If you are remotely closer to Sears, that's where I'd go. We have, however, gone to Sac a few times on Saturday morning for their all day events, which are also $25.

No problem. One caveat, I have made my fastest pass at Sears, not Sac, and it was into a headwind. Track prep is typically better there.
