Default First time with DR's

So I just picked up some drag radials form my friend Gooey here on the forums and had a chance to try them out today. First I'll let you know about my previous times. Last year my best ET was 13.51 and my fastest trap was 103 and best 60 on street tires was 1.9. Last week was my first time at the track this year with the same mods and ended running a 13.6@105 and 13.8@104. So I gained some mph somehow but I'm not complaining haha. So today I only got one run in on the DR's because people were breaking on the track all day. I pulled the brake fuse for this run to heat up the tires real good and did a nice long burnout. Got to light and when it turned green I launched it as hard as I could but I could tell by the way it felt that it wasnt much better than what I ususally do. I got a 1.9 60' and ran 13.56@104.4. I was really hoping for a better 60ft than that but oh well. Now that I'm trapping at 104 do you all think its possible to get my 60 ft any lower? If not i'll stick with my street tires until I'm putting out more power. I'll scan my slip a little later. My mods are 1/2 spacer, test pipes, x02 exhaust and BFG DR's. My car is an auto for those who dont know.

I always find capital has shitty prep track.....honestly i am suprised you got a 1.9 there. Try MIR and 1.8 should be much easier. I think a 13.3 or 13.4 could happen.

P.S good runs.

I was thinking the samething. I may go down there in a few weeks to see what I can do. If I could get a 13.3 before I'm tuned I'll be very happy.

I am hoping I can get down to 13.3-13.4 at 104-105 with some good weather. 13.7 was the 1st day the track was open and temps in the 70's (Mason-Dixon). I'm jealous you have such strong traps.

On this run I basically torqued it to 2200 and slammed the pedal to the floor since I knew I wasnt going to spin at all. If I would do that on my street tires I would spin like crazy.

I just thought it was funny to see you put an ice bag on your plenum, so I was just making sure you turned the TC off.

Haha I do it with both my cars. I really do think it helps with cooling the car down some. My cars suck when they are hot.

Question for you AJ..,

How tall are your drag radials compared to whatever street tire size you run??

Your tranny shifted quick. Hopefully after I change the VB I will be able to shift like that.
