nissan made it so you can:
Putting power to the rear wheels is a six-speed SynchroRev Match manual transmission, which is the worlds first synchronized downshift rev matching system. The system "blips" the throttle on downshifts and upshifts, matching engine speed to the next chosen gear, smoothing out gear changes.

Here are my runs from when I was on street tires (balding Nitto NT555s), run back to back in March of 2007. And I reside in TX, so our DA is higher than most places.

Hm, interesting. I was not aware of that. Thank you for the clarification.

BTW the fastest 1/4 mile time for the 370z has only tied the fastest 1/4 mile time for the HR Z. So technically the 370z hasn't proven to be faster yet. Seriously, 26 more HP does not make a substantial difference in a 1/4 mile.

Same experience I had with a 370z at the track last Wednesday. I beat his times every single time. But I have a tune and HFCs when I went to the track.
we'll since EVERYONE seems to think the 370Z is a far more superior car than the previous HR motor itself..one of my buddies picked up a sport 370Z and we took our new Zs to the track for the first time.I had a 03 prior to my 07.
We was able to run twice that night,I won both of those races...we did two interstate pulls also on the way home. One from a 55 -105 I pulled one car on the 370Z...from a 65-125 punch I pulled on the 370 about 1 3/4 car lengths.
Opinions?Mods to my 07 is JIC exhaust..besides that STOCK..his Z stock.

well make up your mind, either "it is faster", or "it will be faster"?
BTW the fastest 1/4 mile time for the 370z has only tied the fastest 1/4 mile time for the HR Z. So technically the 370z hasn't proven to be faster yet. Seriously, 26 more HP does not make a substantial difference in a 1/4 mile.

It weighs less than a HR. It dyno's more than an HR.
You may have a hard time putting the pieces together, but I'll just give you the bottom line: 370z > HR and DE

well since everyone seems to be confused.....
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2008/...ons/index.html
theres the specs for the 2008 HR
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2009/...ons/index.html
and thats the specs for the 2009 370z base
read up, im sure your all smart enough to realize, 370z is better then the 350z HR...
OP your race came down to driver, your a better driver then your buddy, as previously stated, you should have swapt cars and then tested it that way, i bet you would have smashed on your buddy in your 350z if you were driving his 370z

Once more people get them to the track with some amount of drag skills it will be proven. Comparing apples to apples, all mags have run faster and trapped higher with the 370Z, the POTENTIAL to be faster is there. On the "track" the driver will decide it, they are close.

Like many have said, it's all down to the driver not the cars. They are very equally matched.

i was talking about straight up numbers, as you can see the numbers put the 370z over the 350z HR...if you look at my statement, i did say it came down to the driver, the 370z features and equipment out weigh what the HR offers, but yes, it doesnt matter what you drive, if your a better driver, you can prob win...and yes they are very close
