okay so let me get this straight...you ran a 13.1, almost broke into the 12's with a completely BONE STOCK 350z?! and i mean bone stock, no intake, stock rims/tires. 91 premium gas. spare tire in the trunk, regular tire pressure... like i said bone stock 350z? i just find it very hard to believe that ur girl got this time in a stock Z i mean why doesnt she become professional, she is almost half a sec faster than professional race car drivers in the magazines. look around online a 13 sec STOCK 350Z...doesnt exist. im not hating on you or dissing ur girl im just saying we ran 14's in COMPLETELY stock Z's and yes i know its not the best time out there because ppl have broken into mid-high13's but almost breaking into 12's with a stock Z just isnt happening.

Quiet down, most of country does not have access (thank god) to your crappy 91. You cali kids love to use it as a crutch, but on a stock car the power difference is negligible.

man, what are you talking about? 93 premium is the only thing I and probably most people that have it available fill their car up with, you consider that a mod? And who takes a car to the dragstrip with a full tank of gas? I don't know why you're so incredulous about this, it's not news for the HR to hit 13.1x's stock, a simple search would prove that. It doesn't mean I would be able to do it, but it's been done a number of times by a number of different drivers on different days so I don't understand why it's such a revelation.

This wasn't a 350Z (sorry for the confusion)..this is a 2001 Z28 M6 completely 100% bone stock, factory tires (rims painted black), stock paper air filter, full weight, yada yada...It was a full tank of 89 octane actually (long story but true). She's actually fairly talented though a little rough on the shifts (This was done on her third trip down the track and her first day ever at the track). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDROwJM_Q24

My personal best with the car was on a different day (500 DA difference) with a near full tank of 92 octane (13.19 @ 108.59mph 2.1 60ft).

I was pointing out the 1/8th mph is < 1mph off your 1/8th trap and the 60ft is much lower. Veetec has actually pulled off better times than my car has with his HR so the potential is there man. No need to get worked up over, I was literally trying to help you out. Your times are off because you ARE NOT driving the car to it's potential. I know it's hard to swallow (most people who visit the track for the first time leave with hurt/bruised egos).. it's not a diss and I am trying to help you correct the mistakes that are holding you back. FWIW I had the same speech with my Fiancee before she headed up to the line for her 2nd pass (her first was a 14 something if memory serves).. I told her exactly how I launched, exactly what RPM I left at and exactly how far to slip the clutch out. Her pass imediately following the conversation was a 13.3 @ 105mph.. she then hotlapped and pulled off the pass I mentioned. Knowing how to launch is critical and can make or break your entire run. All I am offering is a little advice and hopefully it helps you out. No more, No less.

Veetec who is a member here has posted very similar times to my own so I thought I would offer my information since it's relevant.
I believe his time was a 13.1 @ 109mph, 2.08 60ft / 8.6 @ 84mph 1/8th (The HR is comparable to my LS1 which is why I posted up in the first place.)

Yeah, my times were usually high 8.5 1/8's, low 8.6's at worst (for good runs).

8.7 means I failed.

I need to go back, I want an 8.3 or 8.4 now.

Dual CIA what?

CIA = central intelligence agency

CAI = cold air intake

I bolded all the grammar issues I see; I underlined and bolded things in need of capitalization.

You're welcome

LMAO-I must be on to something because I have beaten the mag times by far in MANY cars...

Those guys are editors first, car enthusiasts/drivers second. Put the magazine down and spend some time at local tracks and watch some good drivers run legit times.

Well put... anyone that thinks the magazines (mainstream anyways... niche magazines sometimes do have pros like Evan Smith on board) are employing 'professional drivers' or even 'great driving talent' needs to buy a clue.
