don't wanna down the 350z because i have one myself but i haven't heard of one yet that has run that fast of a time in the 1/4 mile yet. if you ran that fast in the 1/4 mile then you would be all over every single import magazine out there. until i see the video i don't believe that you actually ran that fast and i also don't believe that you ran that much nitrous in your car too.

obviously not everyone has seen this video because i haven't seen it till now. that video is pretty good but i still don't believe that you ran that much nitrous. i also want to know how come you doing this didn't get much attention from the import magazines. yes you did run that time but your on nothing that i have read lately. but anyways...congrats on that run.

 

Dan has recieved MORE than his share of publicity RIGHT HERE! But I don't think it had to do with his quarter mile time.

does anyone know of any other z that has broken into the 11's?

 

I was running consistent 7.50's before my engine rebuild last month. I'm not a big believer in conversion tables but the table says that time equates to 11.7's. If everything goes well on the dyno today (1st use of n20 with the new rebuild) I'll be traveling to a 1/4 mile track Saturday- weather permitting. Back to your original question though - there has been no "confirmed" 11 second run except Smithtown!!!

aside from blowing the bottoms out of your motors, what else has broken on your z? you have'nt broken any tranny's or rears in your car? if not then the driveline is pretty stout in these cars..jay

 

Man, everyone is giving you props while I'm reading this and thinking man you guys are idiots. Maybe I'm missing something here. Running 11's on an insane amount of Nitrous for one run and one blown engine. Way to go....i guess.

 

We ran the with this system 40 -50 times, over three months, building up to a 300 shot. We were not setting out to blow up anything, in the world of drag racing, and testing, it happens.

We were testing the limit of the stock VQ35, and we found it. In the process we learned information about the car we now use for our customers.

Our speed shop wanted to build a drag car with bolt on items every day customers purchase, we did that, then adding the NOS system to see what the car was capable was for US...that of would only be natural...Right?

It is still a mystery to me why there are some members of this forum who hate to believe that there are businesses or car enthusiasts out there who could and would go out and build up a car just to break it. If you are into Professional racing at all, you will know that most drag cars are good for approx 5 runs however are normally ripped apart after the first run. Please all the haters out there; keep in mind Performance Motorsport Inc. is not trying to build a streetcar but a drag car. Sure 300 shot is not ideal for everyday driving, in fact the most ideal setup for everyday driving IMO is stock. No intensions of creating any bad blood but, for us half a$$ drag racers, that still want to drive are cars on the street everyday, the info that Performance Motorsports gave us here is really otherwise expensive research information that we should appreciate since we (350 owners) are getting it for free. My $0.02

 

thanks for the kudos. WE ran over and over again with stock internials to see the limit of the VQ. a 13.55 et with only UR Pulleys, then onto the 12's with a little more work and so on till we got set-up with NX nos systems...

The car has been Retired...from Drag Racing and has begun it's transformation to a DRIFT CAR...

Performance Motorsport, inc will run a Drift Car durring events in 2004... more info to follow....

Incredible. The ignorance amazes me. I'm really glad I don't frequent any other forums. I would probably vomit. The vast majority of the people who have opinions on this topic are EXTREMELY uneducated. I don't even want to imagine how many of the people on the other forums probably thought that their work culminated to only one run. Disgusting. I'm assuming this statement is biased but, doesn't it seem like the people who post here are generally a little more educated (or atleast not prone to snap judgement)? I'm only 23, but it seems like the other boards would attract more of a boy racer crowd (read: idiots). Sorry for the cynicism, but I'm really starting to hate stupid people.
