Who here is getting 1/4 times of less than 13.5 without FI or NOS?

Your Z is clearly one of the stronger ones. The Z is faster, but not by more than a few tenths.

14.1 stock @ 98.49 + intake + stock tires
13.4 @ 103.91 with a 50 shot (soon to be 100) + intake + stock tires.....and i didnt spray in 1st, or while shifting. (automatic Z)
i did have a crappy 60 foot though.......a 2.19 with the 13.4 run.

S2K and the Z are pretty equally matched. The Z is about .2 quicker down the 1/4, so it all comes down to the driver.

Find a good S2k driver and a good 350z driver and the race is a tossup. Find an average s2k driver and a average 350z driver and the Z will win. I have seen plenty of time slips with s2ks getting 13.8 stock. I've seen some with 13.7 with intake and exhaust.
Why is there a S2k vs. 350z battle on every thread. They are different kinds of cars. Oh well.

I'll say it again, with a good driver, a race between 2 good drivers will be a very good race in the 0-60 or the 1/4.

to be on the safe side....no more then 100 shot..125tops. and make sure its a wet shot not a dry shot. nitrous is very safe until u get some idiot that half asses the install and blows up the engine by going overboard. u can "safely" spray upto a 25hp shot per cylinder.
but since we do have a somewhat high compression in our Z as it is, 125 wet shot is really more then enough on stock internals. im sticking with 100 shot. its enough for me. im on my 4th 10lb bottle...and everything is going great.
as for the guy who blew his engine up...he was running a 375 direct port shot. and he had turned off his timing controls on the shot...that alone is enough to blow an engine on such a big shot. he did manage to get 1 run in though. he pulled off an 11.28 1/4. he blew the engine on the 2nd run. either way he's sponsered so i dont think he's worried about the money for a new engine.

I have had an s2k and well i got rid of it to get my Z and it was the best choice I have ever made. My Z would smoke my s2k and I busted a 14.1 in the 2k. But don tknow what my Z will do yet.
The smithtown nissan Z is the one that ran the 375 progressive shot and nuked the engine.
They were trying to see what the Z could take, and adding more and more until it blew, it was part of the plan. They're rebuilding it with some tough internals now.

As said, mid 13s are highly uncommon in these cars regardless of bolt ons. I never liked NOS for regular drag racing. I can understand it's use in competition drag racing. But for everyday use? All bottle no throttle. Running small shots on the street has become "the new thing" to do to your domestic or import vehicle.
small shots r a big waste of money. and by small shots do u mean 25-35 shot? that all on its own is a waste, and ne thing smaller then that is flat out disgusting.
i used to be one of those who never liked nitrous, and said it was a waste and stupid. now that i have it, mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm. im thinking of upping my shot from 100 to 150. testing is under way.
everyone knocks nitrous by saying its cheating, and its dangerous...and so on. but really, ne thing that doesnt come on ur car that u put there after is cheating. i guess u can call nitrous on demand cheating, whereas SC or Turbo are always on which can be a bad thing if ur car is an everyday driver like my Z is.
anyway...my .02 cents
peace

actually...its the other way around.
it should be more like...if u can get a good run with nitrous, every other mod u can put on is cake.
no other mod requires so much of the driver then nitrous. from purging, no heating up a bottle, to when to actually spray. it does take a little bit of practice.
everything else u just slap on and its there without have to modify or turn on or ne thing of that sort.
u put nitrous on a sunfire and u'll be running mid 15's and thats with a 100 shot at best IF the engine can handle it. if thats a good time, then either u own a sunfire, or a tricyle.
a crappy car will always be a crappy car no matter what u do to it. on the other hand, the z just gets that much better the faster it gets. so please lets stop acting retarted by saying retarted things.
thanks

Since you thought it would be funny to diss on a sunfire......maybe you should check out John Lingenfelters ECOtec powered car that is on the stock block pushing over 1000HP.
