Since you thought it would be funny to diss on a sunfire......maybe you should check out John Lingenfelters ECOtec powered car that is on the stock block pushing over 1000HP.

I heard about that....that's friggen SICK....WOW. Honda 4cyl guys are scared sh!tless....

Someone claimed to run 13.6 bone stock with their z, but no timeslip = bs. Most stock Z's are running around 14.1 - 14.3.
I would have thought that you would have gotten better than 14.1 with intake, exhaust, and lighter wheels. I think you could get into around at least the 13.8s with those. What kind of intake and exhaust?

I just had my first drag race yesterday.

I was over at Clay City, KY with the folks from Horsepower House (great people!).

My Z is totally stock with the RE040s, but have not had my tranny replaced yet, so I was having issues with the 3rd gear grind.

My time slips are here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/dps/...lips110903.jpg
It's in order from left to right as the day progressed, I am #81.

My first run was a disaster with bad start and 3rd gear grind, my second run had a crappy launch but I waited a split sec. before putting into 3rd, and I surprised myself big time with my last run. Although I fouled, I did get a 13.69 1/4.

I am confident that with more practice and the new tranny I will be able to do below 13.5 without any mods.

Default 13.48 All Motor

My best run to date is a 13.488 @ 103.92mph with the heavy stock touring rims and stock tires. My mods are listed below. My plans are to get the crawford plenum, TS ECU, lighter flywheel, lighter rims, stickyer tires and I'll be in the 12's easy. No need for FI unless you want an insanely fast Z. I'm happy with my progress, my first run at the track netted a 14.356 @ 97.08mph. I've since bested my first run by nearly 1 full second off my ET and 7mph gain in the traps with only simple bolt ons. Attached are my 2 best run time slips from 11/8/03, I'm #8006.

Mods:
Injen CAI
Borla Headers
Random Tech Cats
Borla Dual Exhaust
UR Crank Pulley

If the image doesn't display it's because lostbob.com is currently down.

From what i hear, a decent Evo time is 13.6. A good one is ~13.3
I've heard that the magazine numbers are amost unheard of.

99mph is not very good for an Evo.

you guys need to look at the conditions these quick z's are running in...45* at capitol raceway is probably a much lower DA than you are seeing these evos run in. i mean an avg evo driver at a 2000'DA here in orlando is pulling 13.6s. when doing comparrisons you need to have all the facts and DA is as big a variable as anything on the timeslip

My cousin with his EVO ran a best of 13.4 at 101mph stock. The worst run he got was 13.6 at 100mph. I was with him and saw the time slips at the track.
