Island Dragway 8/7/09
Ran my 08 350Z in the 1/4 mile a few nights ago. Here is the best time slip of the night.
R/T: .536
60': 2.177
330: 5.966
1/8: 9.060
MPH: 80.10
1000: 11.718
1/4: 13.943
MPH: 101.34
The track prep at Island Dragway wasn't too great and people told me my time would be faster on other tracks, however, at my last dyno I put down 300WHP, so I was still expecting a better time.
Any comments on what I can do to improve my times?
Modifications are Injen Dual CAI, Nismo Catback Exhaust, Stillen Headers, and a tune from Uprev Osiris.
Thanks!
EDIT: Found out the DA was at around 1350+

1/8 mile ET is hurting your final ET.
Car is picking up only 21.2 MPH in the second 660 feet. It is capable of better than that. I see considerable improvement in the fall. Still good show.
BTW few if any members will post personal best times is July and August. Its just not happening.

DA for Mason-Dixon in MD was 3400ft today.......great et's and mph just aren't going to happen in the dog days of summer. There are several quick, easy DA conversion calculators out there that can give you a better idea of where you would be on a nice fall evening.

With the converted time based on DA, I came out with a 13.6 @102 MPH.
Even so, I feel like my times are still too slow based on the power I put down.

We went there because you get a lot of runs as opposed to the more crowded tracks.
This combined with the heat seems like part of the problem. 2.17 isn't great, but it isn't terrible, especially for your first time out. You should be able to knock .1 off it with a bit more practice without much issue. I think you will be surprised in the fall (when DA's can go negative in the NE), along with a track with better prep, how your times will go towards the better. Where did you get tuned?

But yeah, the prep is horrible and its in a very strange area.
No, I haven't. I have heard it is pretty poor. Atco and Englishtown are great tracks, but are crazy crowded.
DA due to time of year, track prep and 60' time all contribute to your times. I think with all those factors considered, your times are good. Keep at it is the only advice I can provide. Mph seems low though.

Something here isn't right. Your car is very slow or the heat exhaustion on the engine must have slowed down the trap. Even stock auto HR's trap in the 105's range at a corrected elevation. How are you shifting in manual mode or auto?
Also when you take temperature, natural elevation, humidity, and mercury (something hg in a percentage) all this converts to an alternating da. Your DA in november/october will be best for times. But the problem with that is traction in the colder weather sucks.
