Default Went to L.I. Motorsports, my best time.

Today (10/5/03) I went to Long Island Motorsports park. It was my first time at the track. It was packed so I only got three runs. My car is bone stock, with 8k miles. With a better launch my times should improve. My best time slip reads:

R/t- .101
60 ft- 2.143
330 ft- 6.030
1/8 ET- 9.238
1/8 mph- 78.79
1000' ET- 11.896
1/4 ET- 14.203
1/4 mph- 101.58

My other two runs were 14.3 @ 99mph.

Not bad for your 1st time out. Your 60ft is good enough for 13.80's, I went 13.80 @ 101 with the same 60ft stock, practice on the shifting a little bit, and your times will get better.

I went to the same track in May. It was cool and humid. I also got 14.3@99.3 But my best is below. 3/4 gas spare. They say its a slow track compare to Englishtown. Going one more time this yr to NJ.

I did a little better than you did, but I have a few mods that MAY or may not help... 6MT as well. and yes LI motorsports is a dead slow track. When I went though, it was 85 degrees and somewhat humid outside... I've seen C5's barely eke out 13.6's out there... Oh and I've heard stories about a blue Z that went out there with the injen cai, injen exhaust, pulleys, grounding kit go out there and pull 14.5's. I do believe that track is slow. I wish some of those supposed 13.x bone stock z's go out there and pull those times again

I think the problem was that it was a windy day. I'm not sure what effect that has on the ET, also I have heard from numerous people that LI Motorsports is .1 - .2 slower than other tracks. I have plenty experience with shifting, and I do it well. I shifted 1-2 at a little past 6k rpm. It grinds sometimes when I shift at redline, so I didn't want to ruin a run being it was so packed. 2-3 and 3-4 i shifted at redline. Next time i go I plan to power shift and bring it to redline in 1-2, Than I will probably need my first tranny replaced.

Yeah I'm hoping it doesnt rain. They say chance of showers. But we will see. If it turns out to be a washout. We could go the following day(Columbus Day). I'm off that day.

i dont think longisland motorsports park is a slow track. i mean its not the best track, but i run the same times at etown as i do at li motorsports so i dont know.. etown is much nicer and cheaper, 45.00 compared to 20.00. if u go on sunday at etown its 100.00 for 6runs.. they like i went and i only got 4 runs, in my 04 maxima 5spd auto se

it's not any different from the other tracks in the area, we've been running there for years..we've run low 9 second cars up to low 12 second cars.. no difference in times from there and atco, englishtown..

also the price difference negates itself when you add up your 1 1/2hr drive to jersey, plus tolls and gas alot of thing will affect your times, head wind, tailwind, humidity, temp.. for a slower car(11's and up you will not notice the difference between a well prepped track and one thats not) 90% of the time li motorsports park is clean and has very good traction.. also, the biggest factor in times would be the driver, for all you know the guy that tells you it's a slower track were just having an off day

we have a c5 that we put a roll cage in a couple months ago, hes going 9.30's@ 148.. he's been to atco and englishtown..but the car has made it's fastest passes out at the hamptons.. jay
