I saw the username of the OP and I had to come in here to see why someone would have bumped up one of his old threads. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this thread was just made. Nice work and I'm glad to see that this car is still out there doing big things!

That clutch was "cheap" compared to other things I've tried! Thanks for talking me into it. Clutch had only 2 miles on it before we took it to the track. Send me some "Injected Stickers".

that what kinda sucks. mid 6's is run of the mill 1/8th mile at my track in cars that cost less than your drivetrain. Makes me mad LOL
That should be a real similar 1/4 mile time to Hals street 350z ~9.9s. Great job for a VQ! Is that the same tilton that XKR was looking at for ~4500$? Seems like the next big part to save for!

I'm using the lower price one. ( Ceramatalic ) I've tried 6 different clutches over the last few years and nothing comes close to this one. Though I've only used it one day, that 1 day was without any break-in time and consisted of 7 runs "all out".

Mike and Hal both run the ceramatalic and so far have been working great!!!
The car is gutted? How much does it weigh?
Pics of the inside?
Ive been contemplating keeping my Z, and eventualy rebuilding and TRYING to make the 6 speed work under my driving as a drag car. I doubt it would hold up...

SP's Z ran 9s with their 6 speed and so has IP Hal's. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the stock manual transmission with less power. If you're breaking things, then you need to adjust your shifting technique because it's obviously possible.
You're welcome.Let's recap first because obviously certain things eluded you the first time around. You imply that the stock 6MT can't hold up to YOUR driving/abuse to which I reply, then you tell me I know nothing about your goals. I was responding to the part of your post where you talked about the stock tranny, not about the part where you're contemplating on whether to rebuild or not (which I don't care for). I'm not sure why you felt the need to get defensive, but it's unnecessary and at the same time, almost comical.
"TRYING to make the 6 speed work under YOUR driving?"
What is it about your style of drag racing that you think the tranny can't hold up when two different shops' drag Zs with much more power have been doing fine with the stock tranny? What makes you think your shifting is so much harder/faster than rest of us lowly drag racers' that the tranny will give up (which is what you were implying)? If you weren't implying that, then I apologize, but then what I said about you needing to adjust your style to reduce the chance of breaking parts still applies. Thus, no harm done.Let's be honest here. There aren't many "styles" of drag racing. I mean how hard is drag racing, really, and how much can it differ? Most of the serious drag racers shift at around the similar speed with similar force. The difference between individuals can only be so much when given the fact that the throw of each shift is limited by such small distance. Don't let your internet fame get to you.
Even if we assume that you were to drastically build up your engine, I highly doubt it'll reach and surpass the levels that the two aforementioned Zs are at, considering there's barely a handful with numbers anywhere near those. Prove me wrong with your "possible" build, if you think your "possible goals" can reach and exceed those levels then I'll retract my statement about the stock tranny holding up, which isn't and shouldn't be offensive in any way whatsoever to begin with.
Did you miss the fact that I said nothing about knowing everything or did you think honestly your response was actually funny enough to be posted to stray even more off-topic?
