Just takes a little more practice, but you can get it to work.

Yeah, really... RWD or AWD are much better at putting power to the ground and a very high powered FWD car is not nearly as much fun on a windy road/course as a RWD or AWD car. If you are building a car strictly for drag racing you can get by with FWD w/ slicks and the suspension set up to minimize squat under acceleration... but that will be all the car is good for, going in a straight line. I previously had a FWD turbo Eclipse with 450hp and if I tried to go full throttle anywhere below 4th gear it had no traction. While burnouts from a roll-on at 50mph may look cool to some folks, it is just irritating when you want the car to just go. After that I vowed to never buy another FWD sports car. FWD is fine for grocery getters, but does not belong in a true sports car IMHO.

That is what it will be.
It will occasionally see some street driving. No street racing though.

I'd think if you think you have the skills and ability to plan on making an individual ITB setup using hayabusa TBs that you'd be able to call up the piston manufacturer of your choice to get a custom set of pistons made for a couple hundred extra dollars... 11.0:1 on an "NA build" motor is pretty silly.

I see a fancy parts list without much thought put in to it.

Alright I'll give that a try. I might try to get some custom cams made too. Apparently, Kelford can custom grind cams.

Sounds like a fun project, but I think you're underestimating the cost and labor associated with a build like that. Good luck.

After all this commentary, it looks like you mean fastest = 1320' drag, because there are a LOT of N/A VQ track cars that are very fast around the tracks.

any company will make a piston to whatever spec you need - just have to make sure there is adequate clearance for the valves relative to your cam choice

That is correct.

Yeah I would have to check PTV clearance for sure. I really want to have around 13:1 comp. I should be able to run that with no problems on E85.

I'd like to build a new engine. But right now, I'm doing what I can with 290whp and stock compression.

I just ran a 12.9 intake, headers, exhaust. No gears no slicks. 1.9 60ft 12.49 @ 106mph...I'm getting tuned n gonna grab slicks at the end of April, should be interesting.

Nice time
Time slip?

I'm a bit confused though, did you run 12.9 or 12.49@106, says both in your post.

Looks like he didn't run either time No gears, no tires=in his dreams.
If I see time slipS, I'll be glad to congratulate him.

The reason I ^^^emphasize the S, is because I see an individual's good time slip, then never see another time slip that comes close to that time.

In drag racing qualifying, there's always a back up run.
It's too bad we don't have that rule.

When I see ONE time slip showing a 13.2, then the same car NEVER breaking 13.5 again, I scratch my head

I'm sure you don't have a problem running 12's

I think there's a guy on the 370z.com forum, who ran a 12.8 in pure stock form, then stock & then with bolt ons, never broke 13.00 again.

Don't you think a back up run, that is within 1/10th of that time would be a good idea??

It would be a great idea but it would be tougher for the once in a while racer to be put on the top 25 .

I think that if someone gets a good enough time to be on the list, he will not stop/slow down going back to the drag strip. Once the bug gets you, it's hard to stop

I also think, most people when they go for test/tune, they get to run 4 to 8 times that day. That's MORE than enough runs to get another et close to the best time.

This is not something that's very important to me. Since I'm not racing, the best I can do is talk about it
