Yeah, I saw that. Didn't think that 12.3 was gonna be the fastest though.

I now know what I have to beat!
Car won't be a 350z though.
Are there any other cars with a VQ35 that are faster than 12.3?

The fastest N/A VQ35 max is 12.3 at the moment. That record should be broken next week though. Should be 12.0-11.9 soon.

Yeah no 11 sec max's yet. Getting close though.

My setup is gonna be a 2 door B13 sentra that will be gutted to all hell.
Gonna have a stock displacement VQ35 with around 12-13:1 compression, ported heads, and some big cams. Also the car is mostly likely gonna be an auto too.

Anyone know any places that custom grind VQ35 cams?

Aiming for low 11s all motor. The car should make a little over 300whp.
Then I might spray it to run 10s.

Is there something preventing you from looking at the Top-25?

Why would you even look here knowing that the Z has easily half a ton on a gutted sentra? Of course you're going to beat those times with that power/weight..

That's like comparing a CRV with a B20 to a gutted EG hatch with a B20.. Might as well go ahead and check times on Murano's and FX's while you're at it.. (sorry in a sarcastic mood today) I love the older sentras and wanted to build one for awhile cept with an SR because it's just not the same without FI..

Because not that many people run the VQ engine? Just researching right now.

You guys need to take it easy. I'm not talking **** about 350z's. I was just expecting them to be in the 11s. I know they are not the lightest car ever lol.

Again I'm in a sarcastic mood. I know you weren't talking crap about Z's It just seemed weird for someone to compare VQ times in something that weighs over 1,000lb's heavier. Again that's like asking for times from the CRV crowd when you knew you were going to run something much much lighter. I say build it, run it, post times, then compare. You had to have known you were going to spank NA Z's so maybe aim for some FI Z times

Acceleration = force divided by mass

You have less mass and the same force then you have more acceleration (I was/am a science geek)

+1 on what ni$mo350 said.

I'm interested in seeing how you go about achieving your goals, though. As you decide on more things and your plan becomes more concrete, let us know of your progress.

BTW, AudibleMayhem ran that 12.338 in a gutted and built block Z. I believe he could've ran faster, too, but changed his set up before he could get back out to the strip.

Alright cool man.
This won't happen for awhile I am just in the planning stages.
I might actually end up using a 6 speed tranny though. Through some further research I have found that it is pretty hard to get the autos to shift above their factory redline.

More info about the swap:

Chassis:
B13 sentra coupe (one seat, pedals, shifter, and a tach lol)

Engine:
02-03 maxima VQ35
Wiseco 95.5mm 11:1 pistons
Stock rods
Ported heads
Brian Crower stage 3 cams
Might try to fabricate some ITBs utilizing hayabusa throttle bodies
Custom long tube headers to a 3" exhaust
Megasquirt EMS running an EDIS-6 ignition

Transmission:
B15 sentra spec V 6 speed
Maxima bellhousing

Wheels/Tires:
13" Lenso VPD drag wheels
24.5x9-13 MT ET Drags

Mounting the engine/trans:
I will use a VQ30 maxima crossmember shortened 3" to fit the factory crossmember mounting points. This will allow me to use the stock front and rear engine mounts. The transmission will use the stock tranny mount. The only mount that will need to be fabbed is the timing cover mount. Then I'll be able to use spec v axles. I might have to run the B15 hubs though. That would not allow me to run the wheels I chose ^. Have to figure that out.

I got the idea to do this whole thing because of this guy. Small car with a V6 running ITBs. He is using a much more expensive engine management system though. Car sounds sick!!!
