ETZ, you are not present on any of the Top 25 lists.....Alberto is on 5 of them. Be best if you kept quiet. R/T does not matter at a TnT....unless you are prepping for an upcoming competition.

Wow lot of nuthuggers out today...must be the weather.
I never said RT was important I asked what his reaction time was because it looked like he cut a good light in the video... Alberto quoted my question and started ranting about why do people ask that question.... Like I said I asked it because I felt like asking it.....that was a question to 350Zion so why Alberto had his panties in a bunch I don't know the rest of what he said was good advice I agree 100%! but don't start talking shhh because I asked a question to>>>> 350zion!
I know Alberto's car is fast and I see you do too because your nuthugging him big time! Im not trying to be in the top25. I'm going to boost my car go to the track and have a blast..... If I do get in the top25 you'll be the first hugger I call....lol

All nut hugging aside, I jus wanna get some knowledge become a better driver and enjoy my car...

ETZ was jus asking me a question, while he NEVER mentions that I should work on my R/ T I understand the importance of it. I also understand where others are coming from by saying I shouldn't focus on it....

At this present moment I kno that I have a lot to work on. Friday night at Island dragway is street legal night which is head to head night based on ur index.. Ill be there running my car against others in my index, and r/ t will count then.. But ill also be getting in practice...

No matter if I cut a good light spin my tires sit at the light for 5 minutes beating my meat (redline suggested it) or lose to a civic which is not impossible btw... Its all about me getting some seat time having fun n enjoying this car..

So please refrain from the all too familiar back n forth bickering that my 350 z. com members are used to..

I'm looking for answers, questions, advice, creative help, or jus wanna tell me good job!
If you have any to offer I'd appreciate it. If not STFU n mind urs.... This is not a bash this guy bash that guy thread....

Reaction does matter when competing. “Good” is subjective, but here are some times from fowlman01, bluezee, davidv: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/232989...tion-time.html

No. I do not race with power adder.

As members have mentioned, practice makes perfect. After several seasons you will get a feel for traction at the starting line. Summer, winter, hot, cold, humid. All conditions require a bit of tweaking your technique.

Seasoned racers will tell you that the best racer is NOT the fastest. Good racers are consistent. They do the same thing every time. If you say you are going to run 14.0 seconds (as above), then run 14.0 seconds.

350zion did you happen to notice on your dyno graph when you hit full boost? Since i'm on the Greddy 20G's my full boost (8.5psi) is almost instant and i'm on Bridgestone RE-11's, so I always just launch my car at like 1500rpm or a little more and not dumping the clutch but riding it out quickly. Last year was my first season of drag racing and I was still on the stock clutch so now that I have that problem fixed I'll be getting more seat time this year as well, if it ever decides to stop raining on Wednesdays here haha

Looks like I'm hitting full boost 10 psi @ 4 k .. I was thinking upon the advice of a few others as well that I try launching at around 1800-2500 rpms.

Next time out ill try different rpm launches, feathering the clutch instead of jus dumping it.. This is something I've done daily driving Wen pulling off from a stop light aggressively but could never really go WOT due to me being in the street.. I didn't think that I could do that at the track cause I would lose time on my ET... Definitely gonna try this tho!

Thanks 08nismo for ur input:

Feel free to comment or add ur .02.......

Hahaha yeah my traction control just makes my car go insane and then I hang my head low while collecting that 14+sec timeslip (smh)

I had to get really creative last summer trying to figure out how to run a good time (best 12.2sec @ 124mph) while dealing with a stock clutch that liked to slip every time I hit the gas just a tad too early. Oh if you don't already have a GoPro I highly suggest one. They're amazing for sticking on the back window or driver sider window to record the track and what your doing with its fish eye lense : )

Yeah I was on Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's, and I was tuned by Hal at Dynosty also. I put down 454whp on their dyno last year. I'm planning on going to our drag strip here in Indy Wednesday night so i'll bring my GoPro and test out the new clutch

ETZ-you have whored yourself, I dont really need to say much other than your 1st comment to the OP wasnt quite stupid, but was irrelevant.

R/T means NOTHING at a T&T night, you might as well have asked him what he had to eat before the track day, that's how much it fawking matters lol. You getting all bent out of shape over people telling you you are wrong is funny. I dont care how long you have been racing or what you PLAN to do to your Z, it doesnt mean you race well or understand basic concepts-as we have all seen here you dont.

Please continue your mindless rants and bickering. There is no nuthugging going on here, but you seem to envy it, so I'll send some over your way to rub your **** out, you sound like you need to relieve some stress!

Hey I understand R/T and when it matters... Also learned about deep staging n shallow staging... Which is better for et n which works for eliminations. I do have a few questions, I've read that a perfect light is .500 how did David V get a .388? Wouldn't that constitute a red light? If not then dam thats quick.....

Friday night ill be running in the street legal class not because I'm ready but because its the only track time I can get in this week due to track schedules.... Ill have fun n work on some things....

Also have a question about shifting.. How do u guys shift, is it like regular driving but faster or do u keep ur foot on the accelerator with out removing it n jus depress the clutch rapidly while shifting into gear ? Prolly a noob question but I'm new at racing n can use all the advice I can get....

Alberto, I'm sure u have an infinite knowledge of all things Z n I appreciate that (not tryin to be funny).. All I ask is that we stay focused on the topic of this thread...

Some tracks the perfect rt is .500 and others go all the way to .000, just depends on which track you go to and how they operate.
