Default ET Streets: 26x10.5x16 or 26x11.5x16

So I've settled on getting a set of Streets...in addition to the 10.5 (8.3" tread) there is an 11.5 (9.6" tread) for only a few dollars more... would the 11.5 be a problem or even worth it for 450whp? Friction losses, clearance, ect?

There are cars with way more power than even our built cars hooking on 10" slicks, BUT they are dedicated drag cars.

Take into account you probably wont fully set up your alignment and suspension strictly for dragging, its safe to assume you will have some negative camber (less contact patch), which will only go more negative under launching as you squat.

Being that you are FI, Id opt for the 11.5". If I was NA even built NA Id do the 10.5".

Aren't the FD wheels 8"....if so the contact patch for a 10.5 and 11.5 won't be too terrible different....maybe a .5". Personally I think both will be fine. I just think the 10.5 is more than enough for 400-450whp. I used to use 10.5" slick on my honda (~500whp) and it would dead hook with a lot of heat in it.

I actually took drag into consideration on my recent alignment. Camber is exactly 0 at rest and should only go a few tenths negative under load (given my springs are harder than stock). We also put toe a little more straight than stock which points more inward normally. The idea is that under load it will be right in the center of spec (slightly in) and on the edge (nearly straight) at rest. Did I do it right?? LOL

I assume you are NOT competing in a class (say 10 inch tires) so hell go 11.5 inches.

But will it fit? I'm already scrubbing my inner rear fenders with 285's on 20x10 wheels, those tires aren't more than 10" wide.

LOL I'm like a chick I can't decide. I guess if they fit your car they will fit mine, worst case with a small spacer.

That's because of the offset of your 20" wheels. The FD offset is much higher.

Yes (the 10.5" version on 8.5" Z32TT wheels).

In drag, wider tires don't mean you'll cut better short times or even go faster. You only go as wide as you need to; any more would be a waste of money and your ET will suffer. You need to take into consideration weight and especially air resistance (ex. skinnies on the fronts). I would've opted for the 10.5" ET Streets for the said reasons.

And your rubbing, as Scott said, depends on your offset.

Ever thought about moving on to a 370. I know I think about it everyday.

Post your results. These are the same tires I will run. Where did you end up getting them?

I got them from a wholesaler that I do IT work for. Even cost wasn't much cheaper than going to somewhere like summit...maybe $20 per tire less; peanuts.
