Default Hitting rev limit in 4th before the 1/4 mile, Options??

Guys im hitting the rev limit at 7000rpm in 4th gear about 30-40ft before the finish. Its quicker to stay in 4th and hit the limiter over the line than change into 5th but what can I do to help this??

Im on 18" 275/40 street tires at the moment and dont really want to run drag wheels and tires as I have OEM brembo's. I have looked at M&H 275/45/18 drag tire (28" tall) but im not sure if this will fit and may slow me down being that tall?

Any ideas guys as im not sure about reving a stock DE head set up past 7K rpm??

Thanks..

Also a 3.3rear end may slow me down to?? LOL.

The extra shift hurts ET. Taller tire. Different rear end.

Taller tire. You need 28" because you are already at 26.7"

Increase limiter for 1st and 4th gear use only

3.3FD

Shift into 5th

Live with it

With 460whp, a 28" tire shouldnt be a problem. It certainly wont slow you down as you are not even using the full potentional of 4th gear as it is now.

I ran with 7.5k redline without issues stock block, as long as you don't routinely bang the redline you'll be fine especially being built and all.

Oh I kept thinking you were stock block, if you are built this shouldnt even be an issue. Get an extra 500rpm's tuned it her, and let her rip.

Shift at 7500rpm's on the 1-2 as well! This alone if you could get traction in 2nd would be huge for your time.
