Default Took my Z to the track

Okay, as I am very curious about my Z's RPM red line, I took my car to the track couple of weeks ago.

When I step on the gas and the rpm hits around 6000 something it shifts back, and than as I tried to speed up again, the rpm hits 7000 and it didn't seem to shift back so I got scared and let off and got like a 23 sec car. LOL.

I have some minor mods and previous owner told me it's been tuned. It seems every time I tried to floor it, it hits 7000 rpm with ease and at least the red line, and doesn't seem to shift back. Seems like the Z's rpm wanted to keep going, maybe the car was tune to at least get to a higher rpm so it = giving more power? I don't really feel the torque and HP unless it's over 3000-4000 rpm. I heard that some Z owners tune their Z to have high torque & HP on lower rpm's and lower torque & HP on higher rpm. I test drove a stock Z too and it seems like it's got a lot of torque under 3000 rpm but over 4000 rpm, it seems slow compared to mine. Plus, it shift when the rpm's going to hit red line...the one I test drove didn't seem to want to reach 7000 rpm either.

Just need some help, if anyone can tell me the answer. Thanks!

I think it's the driver, at redline I back out f the throttle, push in the clutch , shift gears , release the clutch and back on the throttle. Seems to shift every time

It's an auto, not manual.

No! Cause he's got a real men's car (Corvette) and doesn't bother looking at girly cars (350z).

Um yeah I have no idea what you're talking about. You don't know what your redline is and you're afraid to turn your car on and rev it to find out?

I said when the rpm hits around 6500-7000 rpm (that's where the red line is) it doesn't seem to shift. Maybe it needs to go higher so it will automatically shift back since it's been modify and tuned. That's the best explanation I can give. If no one can't seem to understand and want to joke about it, it's cool.

Put in drive, floor it, let transmission do its thing. You will not hurt it.

No. It runs smooth. Kind of hard to explain. There's nothing wrong with the car.

Kind of like that. I have mods and it reaches red line like that but it doesn't shift. Maybe it's the mods and tune like I kept saying. Cause without mods, I know the rpm does not hit red line that fast, nor could it get way up there.

Shift it manually just before you hit redline. No big deal.
