Dont do burn outs with street tires. Just go around the water box.

If you're on street tires don't bother. Just do a quick spin of the tires(NOT in the water box, avoid it) and roll up to the line. On drag radials you want to do a longer burnout. Drive around the water and back up untill your rear tires are at the damp area just past the water box, let the guy runnig the water box guide you.(some tracks don't allow you to back into the box so ask somebody first) I assume you don't have a line lock so just rev it up to 3-4k, dump the clutch and get on the brakes very quickly. The car should only move a few inches. Don't stand on the brakes, give it just enough to keep the car from rolling foward and modulate the throttle to stay off the rev limiter. After 5-7 seconds let off the brake and feather the gas a bit to roll out of the burnout.
