When you say ticking, do you mean a creaking? cause i cant tell if its my rear end or my struts that keep creaking...

After running my car at the track a few times i started to hear a little ticking/clunck when i would shift, let the clutch out and get on the gas.

Take it to your dealer they will fix it.

i can't remember exactly what it is but i know it's a Nut that comes loose on the rear end that they ahve to tighten up......It has to do with the DriveTrain.... They jsut re torque it and since then i've been back to the track on ET Street's and haven't had a single problem....

You can drive on slicks, it just makes the po-po unhappy.

I got tired of swapping things out at the track and picked up a pair of Hoosier Quick Time Pros. They're slicks with DOT-approved markings. They hook just as well as a real slick. Not good for corner carving, but save you from having to lug 2 sets of tires to the track and taking the time/hassle of swapping.

No offense, but 14.24 and a 2.2 sixty foot, do you have a lot of strip experience to be talking about rear end problems as a result of slicks? I'm just curious. I guess from what you're saying maybe you just went real easy for your quarter mile times?

Anyhow, someone doesn't put a supercharger or TT setup to worry about breaking stuff. The idea of putting slicks on a car and then babying it completely negates the reason for putting slicks on a car

I run back to back to back 14.2's with 2.2 60's. For some reason, the dragsters in front of me leaving patches of rubber down the track gives me less than optimal traction. I hook better on the street than I do at the track.
Bolting slicks up to a stock rear end can easily result in broken parts. I have seen it happen many times. I have been going to the strip for over two years now, maybe not the experience you have, but none the less I would not be bolting slicks up to my stock rear.

this makes no sense.. are you sure your not just bogging if you run after a dragster? that would make sense..
if you walk on the track after a dragster runs your shoes will stick to the ***** you'd have a hard time walking, let alone spin your tires..

I didn't bog a single launch. And your wrong, with all the rubber down the track your not going to stick more.... think about it.

Quit talking trash and post your 60' times in your Z on stock tires.

your a little edgy huh... rubber on the track equals traction..

why do you think pro cars and funny cars do burnouts past the tree..then back up in their tracks you think about it jay

He posted a new thread.....

Cliff Notes:

Has the MPH, not the ET. Needs traction.
