It is not any news to people on this board that teh 350Z is not a dragster....a lot of people go to the drag strip in order to test the improvements taht their modifications may have made.

A lot of people do it to improve driving skils while others like myself happen to think that 13.9 is nothing to be ashamed of from a stock NA motor.

Many people here also take their cars to Auto X where it can be enjoyed more fully for teh all around performer that it is.

Whats funny about you question is ,the NA cobra is a joke and i have many friends that run high 13's to low 14's with mods. Then why would you get that over a 350z

For that matter i have a NA 96 max with bolt ons no internal work running 13.8 , they should get my max over the cobra.

you should see why this also sounds as stupid as you because you buy what you like this is not a dictator run country where they demand you buy ugly v6 looking $34,000 mustang

Umm, to see how quick and fast you can run it in the 1/4.

Is that a good enough reason?

So what that its a track car, I still like to run it at the strip, that and its cheap.

Its not like you can go out and legally go w.o.t. for a 1/4 on the street.

I also like to try and beat the mag times while its stock, which is usually fairly easy, and get an idea how much improvements the mods have made, once its modified.

For the same reason I drag race a truck, because we can. Sometimes it's more fun to do it in a non traditional platform. Why should the crustangs and slomaros have all the fun? I've even auto-x'd my truck a couple times, and it was a blast, I'd like to do it more regularly now that I have the full Hotchkis suspension. Sure, it's not the optimal platform for either, but with the right mods just about anything can be made to go fast (see sig) or handle well.

actually the first post is right, why spend about 7 grand on a turbo to go a high 12 when u can spend 7 grand on say a 240sx drop an sr20 in it work it still in the 7 grand range and go low 12s

Why spend 7 grand on a 240 with an SR20 swap to supposedly run low 12s when you could by a early 90s 5.0 stang for 2-3 grand....do some motor work and run the same E.Ts for under 5 grand.

Dumbest argument EVER. If everyone subscribed to your train of thought, we'd all be driving and modding the same cars because they were the "cheapest" to mod. How gay would that be?

Why? Because it's fun. Just because we aren't all driving top fuel dragsters doesn't mean drag racing isn't fun, whatever car you're in.

And BTW next time you think of a question to ask, ask yourself why you type in such a fashion that you never use a complete word and just throw random letters together with an insufficient supply of vowels and punctuation. stfu kthxbye

you can get a sc cobra for 35000 and it will do low 13's stock. With a few light mods it will do 11's. the dohc's take forced induction well.
