Default New stock pb trap speed, but not et......

I trapped close to 103 m.p.h. Friday night, but traction was horrible, and the track looked like it was glazed.

Nobody did well with launching, or keeping it planted, unless they had slicks, and even then the high powered cars made one pass, and shut it down for the night.

My trap speeds were well over 102, and on my best pass I approached 103 m.p.h. My last pass would have been over 103 probably, as I had let the car cool all the way down, but the added power just made getting it down worse, so I spun and slipped all the way down the track, letting up at times to regain traction. Even the shift into 4th gear caused the back end to get loose.

The temperature was very cool, upper 40's, humidity was around 85%, pressure was around 30.00 inches.

All I could muster was high 13's, but I was happy with the fact that the car does have the power to get into the mid 13's, I just have to go when the sun is out at Steele, or go to Silver Dollar Raceway, where I was putting down 2.0 60's.

I will not modify this car until I get my 13.5-13.6!

If I did it...you can do it

I remember how well you did in your maxima during it's short life.

I agree it is doable with the right driver. My best Trap with just a catback exhaust is 103.92 mph.

My best ET with just an exhaust is 13.79 @ 103.91.

The catch is both those runs were achieved in 65* weather with 60' times around 2.2 - 2.3!!

My goal is to get to 13.5's or better with just the exhaust....I am going to have another shot on 11/14. Need to practice that launch.

those are great traps AND ET's for a stock car. hopefully ill have another chance at the 1/4 mile before i modify my car. i'd like to see 13s stock. right now im at 14.0 at 101 with 2.2 60' in 70 degree weather and very humid and a shitty prepped track. i just need to practice on my launches and i should be running 13.8 @ 102 or so.
