each car is just a little bit different and all advice we are giving will need to be tailored to your car.

your 1/8th's MPH are right there so it would have to be the 3-4 shift if anything.

Seems like it would be an easy shift, buy you may not be smooth enough???
I bark 3rd and 4th on the track all the time...and ran the times in my sig...I'm pretty sure my E.T.s are evidence that I'm not shifting late.

FYI - you can't shift a stock 350Z or G35 late unless you're banging off the rev limiter. The optimal shift points as calculated by CarTest are actually slightly beyond rev limiter.

I managed to dip into the 13's with my stock sedan. At a sea level track with traction and a skilled driver its possible.

Good Luck!

The launch is where it's at. I have knocked a half second off by just changing my tires and running lower pressure in them.

Thanks Bri.

I think the G engine is a little weaker at 6200 rpm and on though.

With a couple minor changes it recovers that difference. The torque peaks are almost identical but the hp peak is later on the z.

I shifted way late sometimes (6800 rpm) to see what would happen and my times dropped. I would also break traction badly as the torque fell off too much past about 6500.

I agree with you on the barking. I must have not expressed myself correct. I meant spinning/loud squeal. A small chirp or a little bark is evidence of being right on the line of traction (good for shift and launch)

Hey Redline6mt and cammy5... I go to Steel, AL all the time not a bad 1/4 track, and yes being open year-round is killer. Unless it is raining or snowing, she is open. I didn't know the new Accord V6's were that fast, 14.2@99 is very nice, that is about what most 350z's are running stock. My Z is Lemans Sunset (the bronze/orange color) maybe you have seen me there. Come on down Redline6mt sometime.

Sucks the track is down right now, fell in or some junk a couple of months ago when we got all that rain. They said it should be back open last week of March or 1st week of April once they redo the track.. Sucks for them too, they just did a major rebuild/resurface last year :\
