Exclamation Project 350z Drifter

As the title says, I am planing on building a drifter 350z. I have built and modified hondas/acuras for a while now and I am looking into the whole RWD challenge.

I do not own a Z yet, it will all depend if I can come up with the right budget. That is why I would like to know if there are any 350z "Drifters" specialised on this board that can help me with hints and tricks. If not, can anyone refer me to a company that does.

I am currently putting a team together in my local area and we want to build this as a project for the track only. Obviously we will try and get some sponsors along the way, but for now, I need to be looking into the right parts that can help us along our journey.

I would like to thank you for your time and for any help provided, really apreaciate it!!

Every driver has his own pref to what he wants his car to do. So no one can tell you whats the best because every product performance out there does different things to different drivers. You should do a search on all the products and see what fits you best. Good luck

I'm no expert but I would say go S/C on a drift car. The powerband is more predictable and readily available.

Makes sense what both of you are saying. Well... as for the parts, can you provide me with a rundown of the top manufacturers for 350z parts? Much appreciated, thanks guys!

all you need to start is a 350z with a diff, hopefully a nismo diff or a kaaz. thats it. if you are serious about learning to drift, stay away from mods in the beginning, they will only slow you down as your car is out of commission for events, broken, needing more work, ect. nissan builds a great little car, and its more than enough for your first year or so of drifting.

just buy a 2 way diff, dont worry about other stuff until you need it, and you wont for a while if your starting with a Z.

Agree with these goys. I'm just starting to drift my car and the 350z stock rules in drifting. Its super great. Stay stock for now and remove the spare. The LSD is a super great addition when you can afford it. it also saves tires since you don't need too much throttle to spin the car. I took some classes with the stunt drivers of FAF3 Tokio Drift and what they told for the Z setup was:
1- 2 way LSD like previously mentioned-works accelerating and decelerating. Be prepared because 2 way lsd is noisy from what I hear.
2- JIC coilovers
3- sway bars

Thats it.
